The behaviour of sulcotrione, a recently introduced triketone herbicide, in various soil types was studied under laboratory conditions. In particular, degradation and sorption processes were examined on Ghent Perpignan soils. Kinetics showed that the sulcotrione influenced by biotic and/or abiotic factors. Half-lives ranged between 45 65 days. Among compounds identified 1,3-cyclohexanedione (CHD) 2-chloro-4-mesyl benzoic acid (CMBA), previously described as hydrolysis products, and, special...
Core Ideas OMERE is a Mediterranean observatory of two farmed catchments in Tunisia and France. Water, contaminant, erosion fluxes are monitored from plot to catchment scales. Soils land use relation with agriculture surveyed. Scientific results concern elementary processes integrated functioning. Models were conceived for evaluation agricultural management scenarios. To account the diversity ecosystem situations hilly areas, agro‐hydrological (Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Environnement...
Sixty-four table grape samples from different regions of Tunisia were collected during three consecutive years (2015-2017). The presence 96 pesticides, including dithiocarbamates, was assessed. Pesticides identification and quantification performed by liquid or gas chromatography, coupled to tandem mass spectrometry. All contained multiple residues (4 24 residues), with an average 11.6 per sample. Individual concentrations pesticides in grapes ranged 0.01 5.86 mg kg-1. For at least one...
The retention process of sulcotrione and its two hydrolysis products, 1,3-cyclohexanedione (CHD) 2-chloro-4-methylsulfonylbenzoic acid (CMBA), were studied in four different soils (Belgium, Landes, Perpignan, Martinique) under laboratory conditions. Adsorption isotherms well fitted by a Freundlich relationship. values Kfa ranged from 0.4 to 27.0, the most adsorbed compound was CHD regardless soil type. Sulcotrione CMBA exhibited similar behaviors. According adsorption desorption results,...
Abstract BACKGROUND: The dissipation kinetics of the herbicide sulcotrione sprayed 4 times on a French soil was studied using laboratory microcosm approach. An advanced cultivation‐based method then used to isolate bacteria responsible for biotransformation sulcotrione. Chromatographic methods were employed as complementary tools define its metabolic pathway. RESULTS: Soil microflora able quickly biotransform (DT 50 ≈ 8 days). 2‐Chloro‐4‐mesylbenzoic acid, one main metabolites, clearly...
Assessing dissipation is an integral part of determining pesticide risk. The adsorption and characteristics two model insecticides, chlorpyrifos (CHP) dimethoate (DMT), in a Mediterranean soil were investigated order to evaluate microbial toxicity study their bioavailability for the purpose managing residue with potential bioremediation contaminated soil. aim this was also define novel methods assessing ecotoxicity CHP DMT on microorganisms Koc values ranged between 33420–91601 cm3/g 129–184...
The hydrological cycle is strongly affected by climate changes causing extreme weather events with long drought periods and heavy rainfall events. To predict the functioning of Tunisian catchments, modelling an essential tool to estimate consequences on water resources test sustainability different land uses. Soil physical properties describing flow are feed models must therefore be determined all over watershed. A simple but robust ring infiltration method combined particle size...
Two years of monthly sampling and hydrological monitoring were performed at the outlet a Mediterranean watershed in northern Tunisia to determine contents 469 pesticide active ingredients metabolites water evaluate their behavior. Wadi Guenniche is tributary Bizerte coastal lagoon, with area 86 km
Abstract A survey of the prevalence rigid ryegrass ( Lolium rigidum ) resistant to ACCase and ALS herbicides was conducted in major-cereal growing regions north Tunisia. Randomly collected populations were assessed, using Syngenta RISQ ® test, for resistance clodinafop-propargyl, iodosulphuron + mesosulphuron pinoxaden. Of 177 tested populations, 58% exhibited clodinafop-propargyl 52% mesosulphuron, with 40% exhibiting both herbicides. Significant variations frequencies and/or observed...
Irrational use of chemical method for crop protection, presents increasingly serious risks human health and the environment. Droplet size meteorological parameters are key factors to both environmental contamination pest control efficacy. The objective this study is assess impact nozzle parameters, operating pressure wind speed on droplet foliage deposition (retention) soil (losses), when treating artichoke. Several combinations were tested in a tunnel field, under Mediterranean...
Abstract Blackleg, caused by Leptosphaeria maculans , is a major oilseed rape disease present in many traditional growing regions worldwide and also becoming increasingly important Tunisia. Cultivation of varieties harbouring blackleg resistance genes (R‐genes) an integrated approach represents the most effective means controlling this fungal threat; knowledge pathogen population structure prerequisite for its efficient use. spp. isolates (145) were collected characterized during 2018–2020...
