The reduced chain entanglement of brush polymers over their linear analogs drastically lowers the energetic barriers to reorganization. In this report, we demonstrate rapid self-assembly block copolymers nanostructures with photonic bandgaps spanning entire visible spectrum, from ultraviolet (UV) near infrared (NIR). Linear relationships were observed between peak wavelengths reflection and polymer molecular weights. This work enables “bottom-up” fabrication crystals application-tailored...

Self-assembled structures of brush block copolymers (BrBCPs) with polylactide (PLA) and polystyrene (PS) side chains were studied. The polynorbornene-backbone-based BrBCPs containing approximately equal volume fractions each self-assembled into highly ordered lamellae domain spacing ranging from 20 to 240 nm by varying molecular weight the backbone in bulk state, as revealed small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). size increased linearly length, which indicated an extended conformation state....

We describe a simple route to fabricate two dimensionally well-ordered, periodic nanopatterns using the self-assembly of brush block copolymers (brush BCPs). Well-developed lamellar microdomains oriented perpendicular substrate are achieved, without modification underlying substrates, and structures with feature sizes greater than 200 nm generated due reduced degree chain entanglements BCPs. A near-perfect linear scaling law was found for period, L, as function backbone polymerization (DP)...

Lipophilic drugs require more advance formulation, especially if the intention is to make solutions or semisolid formulations. This also accounts for most antimalarial drugs. Although some of these are soluble in lipid vehicles, few them, such as lumefantrine (LF), poorly oily vehicles. Trying dissolve and formulate LF a liquid formulation together with other is, therefore, major task. When mixed solution artemether (AR), precipitation occurs, sometimes precipitating out on its own, AR...

In this report, we explore the capability of macromolecules to interdigitate into densely grafted molecular brush copolymers. We demonstrate that by using tendency for stereocomplexation between poly(l-lactide) and poly(d-lactide) as a driving force complementary linear polymers copolymers can form stereocomplex. However, stereocomplex formation is restricted only partially observed when side chains are critical weight.

Conductive fullerene (C60) units were designed to be arranged in one dimensional close contact by locally organizing them with covalent bonds a spatially constrained manner. Combined molecular dynamics and quantum chemical calculations predicted that the intramolecular electronic interactions (i.e. charge transport) between pendant C60 could controlled length of spacers linking polymer main chain. In this context, side-chain polymers high relative degrees polymerization up 1220 compositions...

The regioselectivity of the Claisen rearrangement with different meta-substituted and meta- para-substituted allyl phenyl ethers was investigated. main results were that in rearrangements depends roughly on electronic nature substituent, electron donating groups favoring migration to further from meta-substituent while withdrawing favor towards meta-substituent. Different para-substituents tested two meta substituents, Me, Cl. Most para-substituent had a clear effect product ratio, all but...

In this study, the effect of 18-crown-6 on stability oxytocin in aqueous solution was explored. The study found that while 12-crown-4 and 15-crown-5 do not stabilize oxytocin, does have a stabilizing citrate/phosphate buffer at pH 4.5. However, acetate same pH, presence had destabilizing effect, possibly leading to different degradation pathway. Both effects, depending used, are concentration dependent where higher is linked stronger effect. It hypothesized may be binding protonated ammonium...

This study explores the importance of general chemistry as a prerequisite for organic lecture courses. The students taking were categorized into three groups: (1) those who had finished before starting chemistry, (2) not and (3) repeating course. Most in group 2, however, took during same semester. was found to have positive but minimal impact on student performance, yielding slightly improved average pass rate. However, difference between groups 1 2 statistically significant. These results...

Abstract Oxytocin is a cyclic nonapeptide used to induce labor and prevent bleeding after childbirth. Due its instability, storage transport of oxytocin formulations can be problematic in hot/tropical climates. The aim this study was investigate the effect trehalose select antioxidants (uric acid, butylated hydroxytoluene, l ‐ascorbic acid) on stability solution. buffer composition acetate concentration also studied. Acetate found work better than citrate/phosphate for stability. Lower...

The aim of the present study was to identify effect D-(+)-glucosamine, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, tetraethyleneglycol, and mixture these additives on stability oxytocin in phosphate acetate buffer solutions, at pH 4.5. Our findings demonstrate that tetraethyleneglycol has a destabilizing both buffer. D-(+)-Glucosamine hydrochloride had small negligible low concentrations, yielding slight improvement lower concentrations additive presence buffers used, but higher it increased rate degradation....
