Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS) nanocrystals with tunable crystal phase have been synthesized using a solution-based method. As-synthesized CFTS in the shape of oblate spheroid and triangular plate band gaps 1.54 ± 0.04 1.46 0.03 eV, respectively, appear attractive as low-cost substitute for thin film solar cells.

Two new semiconducting polymers based on indacenodithiophene and thiadiazolo[3,4-c]pyridine units were synthesized viaStille coupling polymerization. The polymers, PIDTPyT PIDTDTPyT, exhibited main absorption bands in the range of 550–800 nm while their maxima located at around 700 films. With two additional thiophene spacers, PIDTDTPyT showed a broader band but 20 blue-shifted maximum peak compared to that PIDTPyT. Both possess low bandgaps (∼1.6 eV) deep energy levels for both highest...

A detailed model study has shown that thin film morphology and bulk-heterojunction solar cell performance can be significantly improved by systematic tuning of the surface energy conjugated donor polymer through side-chain functionalization. Thiophene-flanked diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) moieties with different contents cyanohexane side chains were incorporated into three low band-gap copolymers (PIDTDPP1, PIDTDPP2 PIDTDPP3) consisting indacenodithiophene (IDT) donors DPP acceptors. The...

A series of cross-linkable hole-transporting materials (X-HTMs) consisting indacenodithiophene, bithiophene, and thiophene units bookended by two triarylamine groups have been designed synthesized to investigate their suitability as new anode buffer layer for bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells (PSCs). These X-HTMs can be thermally cross-linked at temperature between 150 180 °C form robust, solvent-resistant films subsequent spin-coating another upper layer. Energy levels these were...

Abstract Graphite is the major anode material of commercial lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), and thus improving its cycling stability an effective approach to extend battery life. In this study, succinic anhydride group, methoxyethanol, methoxypolyethylene glycol segments are chemically bonded surfaces graphite particles by Diels‐Alder subsequent esterification reactions. The synthesized functionalized graphites excellent in water dispersibility. electrochemical results indicate that...

Monodisperse nanocrystals of a new wurtzite phase Cu2CoSnS4 (CCTS) have been synthesized using simple solution-based method. The CCTS grow in the shape nanorods with an average length 32 ± 2.0 and width 16 1.5 nm. more stable stannite has also by increasing reaction temperature or post-high-temperature annealing process. band gap is determined to be 1.58 eV. Thin films prepared from nanocrystal suspension display photoresponse behaviour white light solar simulator, suggesting potential use...

The Ullmann homocoupling of 2-bromo-perylene diimides (PDIs) gave [2,2′-biperylene]-3,4:9,10:3′,4′:9′,10′-tetrakis(dicarboximide)s, 2,2′-bi(PDI)s, and the Suzuki coupling a PDI-2-boronic ester 1-bromo-PDI [1,2′-biperylene]-3,4:9,10:3′,4′:9′,10′-tetrakis(dicarboximide), 1,2′-bi(PDI). These were compared with [1,1′-biperylene]-3,4:9,10:3′,4′:9′,10′-tetrakis(dicarboximide)s, 1,1′-bi(PDI)s. Solution absorption spectra suggest that PDIs in 2,2′-bi(PDI)s are more planar less strongly coupled than...
