Abstract Our understanding of mammal ecology has always been hindered by the difficulties observing species in closed tropical forests. Camera trapping become a major advance for monitoring terrestrial mammals biodiversity rich ecosystems. Here we compiled one largest datasets inventories communities Neotropical region based on camera studies. The dataset comprises 170 surveys medium to large using traps conducted 144 areas 74 studies, covering six vegetation types and subtropical Atlantic...
Invasive exotic species can negatively impact local biodiversity. We present here a report of nest predation an endemic bird species, variable oriole (Icterus pyrrhopterus) by the introduced black-tufted marmoset (Callithrix penicillata) in agricultural landscape highly disturbed human activities. Two nestlings were predated, adults during two alternate days. Antipredator behavior and vocal mimicry observed oriole, while copulation was predation. The use mobbing against predators I....
