It is practically known that a recurrence plot, two-dimensional visualization of time series data, can contain almost all information related to the underlying dynamics except for its spatial scale because we recover rough shape original from plot even if multivariate. We here provide mathematical proof metric defined by [Hirata et al., 2008] equivalent Euclidean under mild conditions.

We recorded time series data of calls Japanese tree frogs (Hyla japonica; Nihon-Ama-Gaeru) and examined the dynamics experimentally observed not only through linear analysis such as power spectra but also nonlinear reconstruction orbits with delay coordinates different kinds recurrence plots, namely conventional plot (RP), isodirectional (IDRP), iso-directional neighbors (IDNP).The results show that a single frog called nearly periodically, pair periodically alternately in almost anti-phase...

Abstract When we observe a system, often cannot all its variables and may have some of limited measurements. Under such circumstance, delay coordinates, vectors made successive measurements, are useful to reconstruct the states whole system. Although method coordinates is theoretically supported for high-dimensional dynamical systems, practically there limitation because calculation higher-dimensional becomes more expensive. Here, propose parsimonious description virtually...

In this paper, we propose the Iso-directional Recurrence Plots(IDRP) and its techniques. IDRP, characterization of vectors on orbits reconstructed from time series data is represented a twodimensional plane, similarly to Plots(RP). addition, also Neighbors Plots(IDNP) which product set RP IDRP. IDNP shows points that are neighbors possess similar directions. We apply proposed methods various such as chaotic stochastic series, compare with method by Wayland et al. for recognizing determinism....

We have analyzed time series data of sound on interactive calling behavior two male Japanese tree frogs (Hyla japonica; Nihon-Ama-Gaeru). First, we extracted mainly corresponding to respective from the single calls by free and cross-platform editor Audacity. Then, quantitatively timing inter-call intervals frogs. Finally, characterized nonstationarily temporal change analysis cross recurrence plot. The results shown that a pair called in almost anti-phase synchronization after short-term...

To the best of our knowledge, method prediction coordinates is only forecasting in nonlinear time series analysis that explicitly uses stochastic characteristics a system with dynamical noise. Specifically, it generates multiple predictions to jointly infer current states and noises. Recent findings based on hypothesis testing show weather and, therefore, so are renewable energy power outputs. This being case, this paper, we apply forecast wind ramps, which rapid transitions output can...

We analyze respiration time series of newborn infants with apnea. At first, stationarity, determinism and predictability the are investigated. The local stationarity decreases in regions where amplitude suddenly varies as typically observed apnea, it is difficult to predict those regions. Thus, we focus on characteristics decrease when apnea occurs, propose a new method construct fluctuation from data. This called rates this paper.
