Polymer vesicles made from poly(isoprene-b-styrene-b-2-vinyl pyridine) (PI-b-PS-b-P2VP) triblock copolymer confined within the nanopores of an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane are studied. It was found that these have well-defined, nanoscopic size, and complex microphase-separated hydrophobic membranes, comprised PS PI blocks, while coronas formed by P2VP block. Vesicle formation tracked using both transmission scanning electron microscopy. A mesh-like morphology in at a well-defined...

Rayleigh instabilities in bilayers of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polystyrene (PS) confined within the cylindrical nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes were investigated. The bilayered nanotubes thermally annealed to induce phase separation films. For short annealing times, transformed into nanorods with periodic encapsulated air pockets. With longer air-pockets coalesced form columns air. Small inclusions encased domains PS were, turn, incorporated PMMA nanorods....

Poly(styrene-b-4-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P4VP) nanostructures with multiple morphologies were fabricated by immersing PS-b-P4VP nanotubes in ethylene glycol, a nonsolvent for PS and good solvent P4VP, at different temperatures. Mesoporous structures generated from uniform nanoscopic wormlike micelles due to solvent-induced reconstruction when the spherical micellar heated above glass transition temperature of block. The mesoporous can be converted into inorganic oxide structures, like SiO2...

We present a simple route to prepare hierarchical structures by allowing the partial diffusion of polymer microspheres into nanopores anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates. Polystyrene (PS) were first spread onto silicon substrate and allowed self-assemble well-ordered monolayers microspheres. Upon heating above glass-transition temperature, PS pores AAO occurred only at in contact with membrane. After removal membrane, ordered arrays capped nanorods produced, yielding surfaces topographies...

Abstract A symmetric diblock copolymer, poly(pentafluorostyrene‐ b ‐styrene) (PPFS‐ ‐PS), is synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The behavior of PPFS‐ ‐PS thin films on silicon wafers investigated. Lamellar microdomains oriented parallel to the film surface are formed when heated 220 °C for 24 h, due preferential interfacial interactions and low energy PPFS. An electric field used overcome fluorinated block with substrate so as force lamellar orient normal surface.
