Urbanization is a leading cause of global biodiversity loss, but its impact on soil microorganisms and biogeochemistry remains uncertain. To address this gap, we investigate urban microbiome composition using metagenomic sequences from the Global Urban Soil Environment Ecology Network (GLUSEEN).
