Soil property and class maps for the continent of Africa were so far only available at very generalised scales, with many countries not mapped all. Thanks to an increasing quantity availability soil samples collected field point locations by various government and/or NGO funded projects, it is now possible produce detailed pan-African nutrients, including micro-nutrients fine spatial resolutions. In this paper we describe production a 30 m resolution Information System African using, date,...

Abstract Mature leaves of plants transferred from low to high light typically increase their photosynthetic capacity. In A rabidopsis thaliana , this dynamic acclimation requires expression GPT 2, a glucose 6‐phosphate/phosphate translocator. Here, we examine the impact 2 on leaf metabolism and photosynthesis. Plants wild type knockout ( gpt2.2) grown under achieved same rate despite having different metabolic transcriptomic strategies. Immediately upon transfer light, gpt2.2 showed higher...

Although cold acclimation is a key process in plants from temperate climates, the mechanisms sensing low temperature remain obscure. Here, we show that accumulation of organic acid fumaric acid, mediated by cytosolic fumarase FUM2, essential for metabolism cold-tolerant model species Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). A nontargeted metabolomic approach, using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, identifies fumarate as component response this species. Plants T-DNA insertion mutants, lacking...

Leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana transferred from low to high light increase their capacity for photosynthesis, a process dynamic acclimation. A mutant, gpt2, lacking chloroplast glucose-6-phosphate/phosphate translocator, is deficient in its ability acclimate increased light. Here, we have used label-free proteomics approach, perform relative quantitation 1993 proteins wild type and gpt2 leaves exposed Acclimation shown involve increases electron transport carbon metabolism but no change the...

Open access, high-resolution soil property maps have been created for Africa at 30 m resolution, using machine learning trained on over 100,000 analysed samples. Combined with other field-level information, iSDAsoil enables the possibility of site-specific agronomy advisory smallholder farmers.

Abstract Photosynthesis is especially sensitive to environmental conditions, and the composition of photosynthetic apparatus can be modulated in response change, a process termed acclimation. Previously, we identified role for cytosolic fumarase, FUM2 acclimation low temperature Arabidopsis thaliana . Mutant lines lacking were unable acclimate their cold. Here, using gas exchange measurements metabolite assays acclimating non‐acclimating plants, show that results change distribution...

A computer-based soil moisture monitoring and hydrating system is described in this paper. This made of two major components: the sensing unit, main station. The sending unit can be located out a lawn or field, while station close to sprinkler control. provides measurements, it also interfaces with an irrigation allow for automatic watering soil. Components system, as well tests carried on are described.
