Antioxidant compounds and their antioxidant activity in 4 different colored (green, yellow, orange, red) sweet bell peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) were investigated. The antimicrobial susceptibilities of 168 Vibrio parahaemolyticus and 151 vulnificus isolates recovered from 82 Louisiana Gulf retail oysters in 2005 2006 were determined. Overall, the two vibrios remained susceptible to majority antimicrobials tested; reduced susceptibility was detected only V. for ampicillin (81%; MIC > or = 16 microg/ml).
