ABSTRACT The utilization of renewable resources for the preparation new materials is an alternative option reducing high demand fossil feedstocks. Vegetable oils are potential bioresources that and abundantly available. Triglyceride‐based vegetable oils, such as soybean, jatropha, linseed, sunflower, palm, castor, nahar seed, canola oil, being considered precursors in production polymers. In this article, we attempt to summarize advancements processes technologies synthesis polymers from...
In this study, composites were produced using alkali-treated kenaf fibre and recycled polypropylene to improve the interfacial bonding between them. Maleic anhydride grafted was used at a ratio of 1:10 as coupling agent. Blends are mixed together by means twin screw extruder test specimens for mechanical testing prepared through injection moulding machine. Fibre density, tensile property, elemental analysis, structural morphological changes due treatment observed their effects on properties...
Palm oil-based alkyd resins were synthesized by alcoholoysis and esterification reactions. Calcium oxide was used as a catalyst for the alcoholysis reaction between palm oil glycerin. Esterification process carried out using phthalic anhydride maleic anhydride. Physico-chemical properties of such density, viscosity, acid value, iodine saponification specific gravity, moisture content measured following ASTM standard methods. The structural confirmation hydrogen density prepared determined...

Abstract Fishbones are hydroxyapatite‐based waste materials. They can be used in the form of particles as filler or additive polymer composites. The surface modified using heat thermal treatment. In this work, fishbone (FBPs) were epoxy composites for semi‐structural applications. prepared a solution‐cast method. effect treatment FBPs on performance was investigated. mechanical testing, thermo‐gravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry measured chemical structure...
Bombyx mori silk fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP) matrix and E-glass PP composites were fabricated using compression molding. The prepared silk/PP composite tensile strength (TS), bending (BS), impact (IS) 55.1 MPa, 56.3 17 kJ/m 2 , respectively. in the same way TS, BS, IS values of these 128.7 141.6 19 Environmental degradation showed that degrade faster. Other studies like thermal aging soil tests also gave similar result.

ABSTRACT Composites were fabricated with poly(lactic acid) and oil‐palm empty‐fruit‐bunch (EFB) fibers extrusion; this was followed by an injection‐molding technique. Before compounding, the surface of fiber modified through ultrasound poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS). The influences PDMS on water absorption biodegradability composites investigated. Additionally, buried under soil for 6 months, their assessed different characterization techniques, such as tensile testing weight loss...
Abstract The wettability, interfacial shear strength (IFSS), and Weibull characteristics of oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) fibers were studied to evaluate the mechanical properties EFB- poly(lactic acid) (PLA)-based composites. fiber surface was modified through ultrasound poly(dimethyl siloxane) treatment. effects treatment on morphology, structure examined by scanning electron microscopy, contact angle, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis, respectively. In addition,...
Composites of untreated and treated kenaf fibres with recycled polypropylene were fabricated by melt-cast technique without using maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene. To improve interfacial bonding between polypropylene, surface modifications performed through ultrasound, enzyme alkali pre-treatments. Klason lignin test, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy scanning electron microscopy used for the characterization fibres. For composites, samples examined density measurements,...
Composites were prepared from recycled polypropylene (RPP), oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) and/or glass fibre (GF) using extrusion and injection moulding techniques. Two types of maleic anhydride-grafted such as Polybond 3200 Fusabond P 613 used to improve the interfacial adhesion between fibres matrix. The EFB: GF ratio was fixed 70:30 loading considered 40 wt%. Microwave treat EFB fibre, which soaked in a mass concentration (12.5%) alkali solution at different temperatures (70, 80 90°C)...
