This study examines the variability of precipitation in south-east Tunisia through analysis data about annual and monthly at five stations Watershed Gabes, from 1977 to 2015. Standardized ratio, wavelet coherence analyses were applied examine temporal determine effect climatic fluctuations on rainfall variability. Results showed varied energy bands studied inter-annual scales. The depicted spread according intervals 1-, 2- 4-, 4- 8- 12-year cycles, obviously influenced by regional factors...
Abstract Chronological series of monthly and annual precipitation data recorded in Gabes Watershed, south-eastern Tunisia, were analyzed. The study is based on the standardized index ( SPI ) values, computed for 10 rainfall stations over period 1987–2012, which corresponds to an observatory 25 hydrologic years (from September August). results obtained show a great variability values. historical evolution made it possible define periods excess deficit, corresponding wet dry respectively....
The Standardized Precipitation Index SPI-3, associated with three months of rainfall accumulation, is a drought index for detecting immediate impacts. two-parameter gamma distribution, recommended by the World Meteorological Organization as underlying distribution estimating SPI, has shown limits in semi-arid and arid conditions respect to normality test resulting SPI series. Our purpose was evaluate its relevance Medjerda River Basin (Tunisia), transboundary basin where climate classes are...
