:In this study of northern Patagonia in Argentina, we examined the annual cycle epiphyte composition and abundance on Ulva sp. with respect to intertidal elevation, season position host. We found spatial segregation most environmental gradients. Local conditions, levels, seasons portion host thalli had specific patterns algal epiphytic community. The population exhibited seasonality differential morphological attributes according elevation. Thalli highest maximum diameters were heavier...

SUMMARY The occurrence of epi‐endophyte algae in Hymenena falklandica J. G. Ag. Ex Kylin (Rhodophyta) is reported Argentina. Epicladia heterotricha (Yarish) Nielsen (Chlorophyceae) revealed a 100% prevalence occurrence, particularly the basal region host. Low (14%), moderate (28%) and high (58%) severity degrees infection were also registered for E. heterotricha. Pseudendoclonium submarinum Wille exhibited lower frequency close to 3%. developmental morphology dynamics P. investigated under...

Dictyota is a brown algae genus inhabiting tropical to warm temperate environments where it an important food source, shelter and substrate several species of invertebrates other algae. The taxonomy this troublesome, with poor delimitation doubtful records in the literature. dichotoma, type genus, was commonly accepted as cosmopolitan because inaccurate geographical distributional range consequence misidentification parts world. Recent studies molecular data revealed new understanding...

This is the first study on temporal dynamics of epiphyte communities Leathesia marina and Colpomenia sinuosa, in terms richness, diversity abundance, their relationships between hosts environmental factors. A total 31 taxa were recorded, with two sharing 64.5% epiphytic species found. The red algal group had highest abundance both diatoms presented richness. L. showed a progressive increase during warm seasons that was related to end macroscopic life stage host. They also greater specific...

The coasts located between 39°S and 41°S in the Argentinean biogeographic province have been described by impoverished seaweed assemblages, however floristic information about this region is sparse. aim of study was to survey intertidal seaweeds inhabiting three sites oceanographic system “El Rincon” (Buenos Aires, Argentina). A total 42 taxa were identified with a dominance Rhodophyta species. sandstone outcrops (SO) had 29 taxa, whereas both tidal flat (TF) oyster reefs (OR) 11 taxa....

AbstractPeracarid crustaceans belong to the most important agglomerating macrofauna in sedimentary habitats. The amphipod Monocorophium insidiosumCRAWFORD, 1937 and tanaid Tanais dulongii AUDOUIN, 1926 are listed as invasive species. In present study, we investigated ecology of M. insidiosum T. aff. from Argentinian coast. Both were breeding under laboratory conditions study their fecundity growth.
