Abstract The alkylation of kraft lignin with bromododecane was carried out to improve the compatibility polypropylene (PP). feasibility PP/alkylated composite studied. It found that could serve as fire retardant and toughening agent for PP matrix. Moreover, higher portion composites exhibited obvious damping effect. Although scanning electron micrographic observations indicated PP‐lignin adhesion improved by alkylation, additional benefits were only obtained from impact behavior. POLYM....

The application area of a sound insulation material is highly dependent on the technology adopted for its processing. In this study, thermoplastic rubber (TPR, polypropylene/ethylene propylene diene monomer) composites were simply prepared via an extrusion method. Two microscale particles, CaCO₃ and hollow glass microspheres (HGW) chosen to not only enhance but also reinforced mechanical properties. Meanwhile, processing capability was confirmed. SEM images showed that uniformly dispersed in...

Polymer foams are promising for sound absorption applications. In order to process an industrial product, a series of polystyrene (PS) composite were prepared by continuous extrusion foaming assisted supercritical CO₂. Because the cell size and density key determine coefficient at normal incidence, bio-resource lignin was employed first time control cellular structure on basis hetero-nucleation effect. The range PS/lignin corresponding content. As result, maximum incidence higher than 0.90....

Extensive efforts have been devoted to the development of surfactant-free electronic ink (E-ink) with excellent display resolution for high-definition display. Herein, we report use polydopamine-based synthetic melanin, a class functional nanoparticles similar chemical compositions and physical properties those naturally occurring as new E-ink material. It was found that such displays could achieve ultrahigh (>10 000 ppi) low power consumption (operation voltage only 1 V) in aqueous...

Stimuli-responsive surfaces with switchable bacterial killing and release are new promising candidates for the development of antibacterial materials. Although such have been extensively studied many advances achieved, a number challenges remained, including optimization structure, moderate stimuli, so forth. In this paper, we developed "killing release" surface by combining poly[2-(tert-butylamino) ethyl methacrylate] (polyTA) poly(3-(dimethyl (4-vinylbenzyl) ammonio) propyl sulfonate)...

In order to improve the fault-tolerant performance of wheel angle sensor steer-by-wire (SBW) vehicle, a fault diagnosis and compensation (FDFTC) strategy for SBW vehicle via extended Kalman filter (EKF) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, steering motor model, rack pinion dynamics model variable transmission ratio are established. Then, based on analytical redundancy method, EKF algorithm adopted obtain estimation signal. On basis, FDFTC with improved majority voting scheme proposed, which...
