Abstract We describe the experimental method and report results of electron emission from PLZT-2/95/5 ceramics subjected to rectangular HV pulses. The influence amplitude, gas pressure, temperature on beam current-density charge was investigated. kinetic energy estimated by applying a decelerating field. Emitted pulses several A/cm2 charges 1 μC/cm2 are measured. A tentative interpretation is given.
Results of experiments investigating the influence amplitude, growth rate, and repetition rate exciting electric field pulses on electron current charge density emitted from ferroelectrics are reported. The behavior two types lead-lanthanum-zirconium-titanate (PLZT) ceramics, 2/95/5 8/65/35, was studied. temporal shift between applied HV different for materials. Regular emission observed at rates up to 2 MHz in PLZT-2/95/5 material, showing that recovery emitting sample back original state...
A new type of low-pressure gas switch is described. The triggered by an electron beam that emitted from the surface a ferroelectric sample. generated within hollow cathode and ejected through hole arbitrary shape into main gap switch. current energy can be chosen such breakdown achieved with small jitter. its trigger requires neither heating nor auxiliary discharge. fast spontaneous polarization change ΔPs, which cause emission, induced high-voltage pulse electronic switching circuit.
A low-pressure gas discharge is presented as a source of intense pulsed electron beams. The pseudospark emits short-duration pinched beam during the breakdown phase. At voltages typically 20 kV, approximately 10-20% total current appears electron-beam ns in duration. According to voltage beam, power density on order 10/sup 9/ W/cm/sup 2/ reached. Thus, this turns out be good tool for material processing, comparable high-power lasers. Besides drilling holes into metals and insulators, an...
During the last years physics of low temperature plasmas has grown in importance, especially because their various technological applications. Besides well known employment gas discharge lamps for light production, are widely used advanced technologies such as, e.g., microelectronics. High-technology applications promote further development applied and basic research this field. After describing main properties a theoretical approach is given. Starting from general kinetic theory plasma as...
Ferroelectric and multiferroic materials present a nonlinear variation in their permittivity due to domain wall motion. Currently, this is described either by the Rayleigh law for fields above threshold or power soft ferroelectrics. We propose hyperbolic based on contributions of walls intrinsic lattice which includes two classic approaches. The field clearly defined considering reversible irreversible components permittivity. A good agreement between experimental data obtained. Moreover, we...
This; paper reports the experimental results on electron emission trom PLZT ceramics, of composition X/65/35 (X = 7, 8, 9, or 10%), ex cited by short, rectangular, high-voltage pulses. The charge in surroundings diffuse ferroelectric phase transition is investigated.Strong correlation has been found between sum pyroelectric and thermostimulated current one hand, emitted density other hand. Some details concerning this are discussed.
In the present paper, influence of manganese doping on dielectric properties BaSrTiO3 thin films is presented. The real and imaginary parts material's permittivity have been measured in a large frequency range (100 Hz–1 MHz) as function electric field. tunability figure merit material obtained from measurement under an applied DC bias For undoped material, losses become important for which leads to breakdown. At suitable dopant rate, this effect disappears. order better understand origin...
Based on a Ba(1-x)SrxTiO3 ferroelectric thin film, discrete tunable surface mounted device (SMD) capacitor has been developed for microwave frequency applications. The proposed SMD topology the particular advantage of inherent decoupling between RF signal and dc biasing voltage, necessary to tune permittivity. design technological development component is presented, synthesis film summarized. Material characterization shows convenient tunability, while low dielectric losses at 10 MHz....

Abstract New experimental results on electron emission from PLZT ceramics of composition 2/95/5, subjected to rectangular high-voltage pulses are reported. The dependence the emitted charge electric field strength and temperature was investigated. energy electrons estimated by applying a decelerating potential an auxiliary grid electrode. Emitted current densities several A/cm2 charges up ∼ 1 μC/cm2 (∼1013 electrons/cm2) were observed.

The c -domain sample was found to a higher coercive field E dielectric losses than the other which presents approximately 60% -domains 40% as observed by piezo force microscopy (PFM) characterization. Hyperbolic law measurements reveal that is due wall pinning in deeper defects hence th required for unpinning. dissipation factors motion, however, are similar both since density low...
In this study, two different methods have been used in order to characterize lead-zirconate antiferroelectric thin film elaborated by a modified sol-gel process: First-Order Reversal Curves (FORC) measurements and impedance spectroscopy coupled hyperbolic law analysis. Approaches at low high applied electric fields allow concluding on the presence of weak residual ferroelectric behavior even if contribution is not visible polarization-electric field loops. Moreover, phase seems switch only...
