Hypovolemic shock and septic present similar symptoms, such as increased heart rate decreased blood pressure. However, the two conditions have different causes, mechanisms, treatment approaches. Early differentiation between can a positive impact on patient prognosis. In this case, underwent right ovarian cystectomy due to teratoma torsion during previous pregnancy, followed by for postoperative infection. While recovering, an emergency cesarean section sudden severe abdominal pain. After...

To reduce the risk of neurologic deficit, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) is used in spine surgery. A 71-year-old male with cervical spondylotic myelopathy underwent anterior corpectomy and interbody fusion. During surgery, an increase amplitude motor evoked potential (MEP) was detected a decrease latency somatosensory (SSEP) followed. After he had improvement neurological function subjective symptoms. Improvement IOMN signals during surgery may indicate better prognosis patient.

To prevent phrenic nerve injuries during surgery, intraoperative monitoring has been used increasingly. Intraoperative comprises stimulation of nerves in the neck and getting compound motor action potential (CMAP) diaphragm. However, high cervical lesions or surgeries that need particular positions such as a prone position, usage could be limited due to difficulty stimulating directly. solve these problems, we tried evoked (MEP) via transcranial electrical diaphragm tumor resection. The...

Intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) has been widely used to prevent nerve damage during spinal tumor surgery. However, when the is located in thoracic vertebrae, it impossible monitor lower motor neurons such as roots by conventional methods. To solve this problem, rectus abdominis muscle, which innervated root, can be used. We report a case using evoked potentials (MEP) and free-running electromyography patient with schwannoma at T12 vertebrae. During surgery, reduction MEP...
