Abstract X‐ray photoelectron spectra of several Palladium fluorine compounds have been investigated. In all these phases atoms a more or less distorted octahedral coordination. Satellite Structures generally occur in Pd 3d 3/2 and 5/2 levels broad F 1s peaks are observed. Shifts binding energies can be correlated with oxidation State covalency. XPS results clearly confirm the unusual +III NaPdF 4 , Na 3 PdF 6 K 2 .

Supercritical fluids exhibit a range of unusual properties that can be exploited for new reactions which are qualitatively different from those involving classical solid state chemistry. After giving brief introduction to these we describe their use in inorganic chemistry and related fields. We then present two examples concerning areas chemistry: (i) the formation novel nanoparticles; (ii) preparation open-structure oxy(hydroxy)fluorides, thus showing advantages this supercritical fluid...

Microwave-assisted synthesis has been applied for the preparation of aluminum hydroxyfluorides derived from β-AlF3. In course obtaining high-surface-area and homogeneous nanocrystallites, several key parameters have adjusted. A relationship between OH/F molar ratio stabilized allotropic forms pointed out. The surface area monitored depending on water/isopropanol volume ratio. microstructural properties as-prepared material thoroughly investigated highlighting X-ray line broadening arising...

New exotic phenomena have recently been discovered in oxides of paramagnetic Ir(4+) ions, widely known as 'iridates'. Their remarkable properties originate from concerted effects the crystal field, magnetic interactions and strong spin-orbit coupling, characteristic 5d metal ions. Despite numerous experimental reports, electronic structure these materials is still challenging to elucidate, not attainable isolated, but chemically inaccessible, [IrO6](8-) species (the simplest molecular...

High surface area aluminium hydroxyfluoride exhibiting the pyrochlore-type structure has been synthesized using microwave hydrothermal process. The optimization of crystallite size and material performed by varying some synthesis parameters, i.e. nature precursor, choice solvents addition a small amount ether. as-prepared solid contains nanosized particles as calculated XRD (average particle size: 12 nm) leading to around 140 m2 g−1. These results have confirmed TEM observations. framework...
