Abstract Overexploitation of forests by humans can lead to highly fragmented populations forest-dependent species that have poor dispersal abilities. We tested the influence habitat quality, landscape structure and human pressure on densities Barbary macaque Macaca sylvanus in largest wild population, Middle Atlas Morocco. surveyed 14 forest fragments 5–142 km 2 are separated from each other an inhospitable matrix. estimated quality these patches analysing vegetation intensity pressure....

Abstract Macrophytes are one of the main components aquatic ecosystem. They used in several countries as metrics for ecological assessment hydrosystems. The objective our study was to evaluate suitability Macrophyte Biological Index Rivers (IBMR) determine a trophic level upper Oum Er Rbia basin (Morocco) and understand physicochemical parameters water that govern distribution macrophyte species. CCA analysis relate macrophytes hydrochemical water. shows more correlated with abiotic (EC, WT...

Macrophytes not only integrate environmental conditions but also reflect the trophic state of aquatic environment through several metrics. The lack knowledge on biology and ecology plants in Moroccan rivers makes it very difficult to establish a comprehensive effective national metric for assessing rivers.Indeed, use one European methods, which have been subject geographical intercalibration projects across different countries, particularly those Mediterranean region, proves necessary.Given...

Research has long focused on the relative importance of leaves and roots as sources nutrient supply for macrophytes, well function each stream compartment plays in their growth development. The present study concerns the biological assessment of Beht’s river quality in Morocco during period Mai-June 2014 using standard Global Biological Index Control and Surveillance Networks (GBICSN).Thus twelve sampling stations were chosen for determination impact agricultural urban waste area on waters this river. As results approach showed downgrading notes index from watershed’s uphill to its downstream reflecting way deterioration water with increasing anthropogenic action inputs.

Abstract Macrophytes represent a functional compartment that plays multiple and fundamental ecological roles in aquatic environments. They are linked with the other compartments of hydrosystems, both abiotic biotic, which gives them ability to integrate environmental conditions reflect trophic state watercourses. Nevertheless, macrophytes Moroccan rivers have been rarely studied. Thus, main objective present work is study these plants by determining factors control their presence...
