Herein, we report the unprecedented direct synthesis of a recently discovered metastable wurtzite phase Cu2–xSe. Nanocrystals Cu2–xSe were synthesized employing dodecyl diselenide as selenium source and ligand. Optical characterization performed with UV–vis–NIR spectroscopy in solution showed broad plasmonic band NIR. Structural was X-ray diffraction (XRD) transmission electron microscopy. Variable-temperature XRD analysis revealed that nanocrystals irreversibly transform into thermodynamic...

A unique ditelluride precursor enables nanoscale access to vulcanite nanosheets and metastable cube-like Cu1.5Te nanocrystals.
Light-induced charge separation is at the very heart of many solar harvesting technologies. The reduction energetic barriers to and transfer increases rate overall efficiency these Here we report that internal reorganization energy redox acceptor, movement atoms with changing charge, has a profound effect on rates from donor quantum dots. We experimentally studied modelled Marcus Theory cobalt complexes have similar potentials covering 350 mV, but vastly different energies spanning 2 eV....
