The article summarizes the scientific progress that has occurred in past several years regard to preparation of carbon nanofibers from lignin as a low-cost environmentally-friendly raw material using electrospinning. It presents an overview lignin, electrospinning, and carbonization convert nanofibers. Lignin is renewable source for material, it very abundant nature. mostly produced byproduct paper industry biomass fractionation. Despite its extensive availability beneficial properties, only...

In this study, lignin-based carbon nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning, followed carbonization at four different temperatures (800, 1000, 1200, and 1400 °C). The surface bulk elemental compositions analyzed energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. addition, the structure of was characterized scanning electron microscopy, transmission focused ion beam Raman spectroscopy. Results showed that all nanofibers, irrespective temperature, had homogeneous...

The application of nanotechnology in biomedical field has enormous potential basic and applied research. Micro or nanofibers produced by electrospinning technique offer excellent properties because large specific surface area, high porosity, ability to incorporate functional additives. Here we embedded biotinylated bovine serum albumin into polylactic acid (PLA)-polyethylene glycol (PEG) fibers, which enabled immobilization fluorescently labelled avidin. An alkaline phosphatase enzyme was...

Abstract This article demonstrates the development of activated carbon fiber electrodes produced from hardwood kraft lignin (HKL) to fabricate electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs) with high energy and power densities using an ionic liquid (IL) electrolyte. A mixture solution HKL, polyethylene glycol as a sacrificial polymer, hexamethylenetetramine crosslinker in dimethylformamide/acetic acid (6/4) was electrospun, obtained fibers were easily thermostabilized, followed by carbonization...

Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is blended with Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). A series of mixtures are converted to fibers via electrospinning at room temperature. The fiber diameter PLA decreases on blending PEG from 6 down 3 micrometers + MNPs ca. 1 micrometer. thermogravimetric study confirms the effect blending, enhancing stability adding PLA. properties polymer containing different concentrations studied by vibrating sample magnetometer. blends shows...

In this study, Polylactic acid and Hydroxypropyl cellulose (PLA-HPC) fibers were fabricated by electrospinning. Methylene blue (MEB), as a model hydrophilic drug was embedded into PLA-HPC fibrous membranes. SEM results depicted that are smooth, cylindrical, uniform it confirmed the incorporation of MEB in PLA alter morphology. Studies show on-demand release from membranes under temperature stimuli which absent manufactured out PLA. This can be attributed to reversible volume phase...

Material tests were performed on a rediscovered Klimt-artwork “Trompetender Putto”. We studies the red colored spots, mainly taken from non-restored parts. MIMOS II Fe-57 Mössbauer spectroscopy (novelty in art-pigment analysis) reveals haematite and crystallized goethite colors. Electron microscopy can identify various layers of original overpainting an artwork. Abstract In this study, lignin-based conducting carbon nanofiber mat was prepared by electrospinning followed a thermal treatment. Lignin is sustainable precursor. Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) acts as binder polymer, which increases the viscosity of lignin solution using dimethylformamide solvent and helps in formation stable nanofiber. The mixture electrospun, stabilisation carbonisation to yield nanofibers (CNFs). A fixed amount external load provided fiber during procedure then carbonised...

Dehydrogenation polymers (DHPs) were prepared by laccase from Rhus vernicifera and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The enzymatic ability of oxidation polymerization was compared between these enzymes. Laccase showed higher enzyme activity against syringaldazine than ABTS, while HRP exhibited lower 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid). These enzymes had various substrates. DHPs sinapyl alcohol (SA) hardly produced each enzyme, whereas coniferyl (CA) both oxidized faster...
