We simultaneously measure the gravitationally induced phase shift in two Raman-type matter-wave interferometers operated with laser-cooled ensembles of Rb87 and K39 atoms. Our measurement yields an Eötvös ratio ηRb,K=(0.3±5.4)×10−7. briefly estimate possible bias effects present strategies for future improvements.Received 1 April 2014DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.112.203002© 2014 American Physical Society

The theory of general relativity describes macroscopic phenomena driven by the influence gravity while quantum mechanics brilliantly accounts for microscopic effects.Despite their tremendous individual success, a complete unification fundamental interactions is missing and remains one most challenging important quests in modern theoretical physics. The STE-QUEST satellite mission, proposed as medium-size mission within Cosmic Vision program European Space Agency (ESA), aims testing with high...

Given a map $\Xi\colon U(\mathfrak{g})\rightarrow A$ of associative algebras, with $U(\mathfrak{g})$ the universal enveloping algebra (complex) finite-dimensional reductive Lie $\mathfrak{g}$, restriction functor from $A$-modules to $U(\mathfrak{g})$-modules is intimately tied representation theory an $A$-subquotient known as reduction respect $(A,\mathfrak{g},\Xi)$. Herlemont and Ogievetsky described differential algebras for general linear $\mathfrak{gl}(n)$ deformed operators. Their $\Xi$...

In this paper we discuss in detail an experimental scheme to test the universality of free fall (UFF) with a differential $^{87}$Rb / $^{85}$Rb atom interferometer applicable for extended several seconds frame STE-QUEST mission. This analysis focuses on suppression noise and error sources which would limit accuracy violation measurement. We show that choice atomic species correctly matched parameters sequence are utmost importance suppress leading order phase shifts. conclusion will expected...

We report on a simple trapping scheme for the generation of Bose-Einstein condensates $^{87}\mathrm{Rb}$ atoms. This employs near-infrared single-beam optical dipole trap combined with weak magnetic quadrupole field as used magneto-optical to enhance confinement in axial direction. Efficient forced evaporative cooling phase transition is achieved this hybrid via reduction laser intensity at constant gradient.

We construct weak (i.e. non-graded) modules over the vertex operator algebra $M(1)^+$, which is fixed-point subalgebra of higher rank free bosonic (Heisenberg) with respect to $-1$ automorphism. These are constructed from Whittaker for Heisenberg algebra. prove that simple as $M(1)^+$ and calculate their type when regarded Virasoro Lie Lastly, we show any module occurs in this way. results a generalization some by Tanabe.

Twisted generalized Weyl algebras (TGWAs) are defined as the quotient of a certain graded algebra by maximal ideal I with trivial zero component, analogous to how Kac-Moody can be defined. In this paper we introduce class locally finite TGWAs, and show that one associate such an polynomial Cartan matrix (a notion extending usual matrices appearing in theory) corresponding Serre relations hold TGWA. We also give explicit construction family TGWAs depending on symmetric C some scalars. The may...
