The ability of chitosan as an adsorbent for the removal acid dyestuff, namely, green 25, orange 10, 12, red 18, and 73, from aqueous solution has been studied. experimental equilibrium data single component dye−chitosan systems have analyzed using linearized forms Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich−Peterson isotherms. Langmuir isotherm was found to provide best theoretical correlation adsorption all five dyes. On basis analysis, monolayer (saturation) capacities were determined be 645.1, 922.9,...

Abstract The adsorption of five acid dyes onto chitosan, derived through the deacetylation crab‐shell chitin, from aqueous solutions was studied. equilibrium isotherms were measured and analyzed with Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich–Peterson equations; results correlated well Langmuir equation. Kinetic studies also performed in an agitated batch adsorber to study effect initial dye concentration mass chitosan. kinetics pseudo‐first‐order rate equation, constants determined. first‐order kinetic...
