AbstractCurcuma longa L. is a herbaceous crop that used for wide applications. The economic importance of C. the rhizome but leaves remain as wastes. present study aims to extract essential oils from waste four different varieties and evaluate antimicrobial activity against plant pathogens phytotoxic activities on seed germination. major components EO were monoterpenes with abundant percentage varying across varieties. compounds in Rajendra Sonia α-terpinolene (14.64%), m-cymen-8-ol...

<title>Abstract</title> Essential oils (EO) are plants secondary metabolites significant for plant’s defense and supplementary growth. These synthesized in cells response to various factors. Here, we demonstrate that essential extracted from leaves of Curcuma longa differential expressed at different developmental stages. The EO yield was 1.13% 4-month old, 1.79% 6-month 1.35% 8-month old leaf Rajendra Sonali variety. In the variety, Narendra Haldi, 0.81% 1.75% 1.08% leaf....

Essential oils from the post-harvest leaves of Curcuma longa were evaluated in an attempt to demonstrate that these supposed-to be agricultural-wastes can serve as raw materials. longa, also called turmeric, is well known for possessing many beneficial properties. Therefore, this study, essential post-harvested ten varieties turmeric isolated and their biochemical properties characterized. Our results indicated waste still contained a considerable amount oils, which varies between...
