Thermal poling of glasses induces structural and compositional modification breaks central symmetry these initially isotropic media. In spite numerous experimental data accumulated, little is known about the processes occurring in soft under this processing. We use micro-Raman technique to study formation interstitial molecular oxygen subsurface layer a soda-lime silicate glass course thermal poling. The presence O2 demonstrated cation-depleted subanodic region glass, thickness which depends...

The growth of an arbitrary multicomponent crystal via the Burton–Cabrera–Frank mechanism due to chemical reaction is studied. rates advancement a single step, group equidistant steps, and step formed by screw dislocation on surface are analyzed for three cases: single-component reaction; from its vapors; reaction. It shown that cases very similar case vapor can be described same formulas as derived in classical paper Burton–Cabrera–Frank, while diffusion coefficient incorporation rate...

We present a study of resonant optical properties gold‐protected silver nanoisland films. Silver nanoislands were grown on glass substrate using out‐diffusion technique, the growth was followed by deposition nanometer‐thick gold coatings. Scanning electron microscopy and spectroscopy used to characterize morphology extinction spectra combined silver–gold nanostructures. Micro Raman has demonstrated their signal enhancement factor exceeding that one initial nanoislands.
