Acoustic emission, AE, belonging to a rubber-like deformation in martensitic state after the stabilization aging of stress-induced martensite (SIM aging) Ni51Fe18Ga27Co4 single crystals compression, were investigated. AE activity plateau regions stress–strain loop is due massive reorientation from variants produced by SIM preferred compressive stress (perpendicular used and vice versa. For unloading, large just at knee point stress–stain curve attributed difficulty re-nucleation...
The percentage of two types free radicals occurring within n-butyl acrylate pulsed laser polymerization (PLP) has been measured via ESR spectroscopy. Polymerization in solution toluene, at monomer concentrations between 0.50 and 2.53 mol L-1 temperatures −50 70 °C, was induced by 351 nm excimer pulses applied a repetition rate 20 Hz. spectra obtained low degrees conversion may be adequately represented superimposing six-component four-line spectrum assigned to secondary propagating (SPRs)...
Abstract Summary: A novel method for measuring termination rate coefficients, k t , in free‐radical polymerization is presented. single laser pulse used to instantaneously produce photoinitiator‐derived radicals. During subsequent polymerization, radical concentration monitored by time‐resolved electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. The size of the free radicals, which exhibits a narrow distribution increases linearly with time allows chain‐length dependence be deduced. will illustrated...
Abstract Summary: The termination kinetics of dibutyl itaconate (DBI) bulk polymerization was studied via SP–PLP–ESR single pulse–pulsed laser with time‐resolved detection free‐radical concentration by electron‐spin resonance, at temperatures between 0 and 60 °C. As is characteristic PLP experiments, rate coefficients, k t ( i , ), are measured for radicals (almost) identical chain length (CL) . CL‐averaged 〈 〉, lengths up to 200 monomer units, also referring very small‐size directly deduced...
The cyclic stability of the elastocaloric effect and operating parameters (adiabatic cooling value ΔTad, coefficient performance, temperature range) in Ni50.8Ti49.2 Ni51.5Ti48.5 single crystals oriented along ⟨001⟩-direction containing dispersed Ti3Ni4 particles different sizes were investigated, mechanisms degradation determined. Aged nanosized shown to possess optimal combination operational properties for solid-state cooling. These are characterized by high adiabatic change ΔTad 16.8–21.4...
In the present study, effect of γ′-phase dispersed particles on both L21(B2)-10M/14M-L10 martensitic transformations and elastocaloric in aged Ni54Fe19Ga27 single crystals oriented along [001]-direction was investigated. It experimentally shown that aging strongly affects properties these crystals. The precipitation semi-coherent up to 500 nm size at 773 K for 1 h leads a 1.4 times increase operating temperature range ΔTSE = 270 as compared with initial as-grown (ΔTSE 197 K). adiabatic...
