Abstract Methanol is an important chemical with the potential to become alternative fuel. An optimization study was performed for a Lurgi methanol synthesis reactor using commercial process simulator Aspen Plus. The routine coupled steady‐state model of reactor. Syngas inlet temperature, steam drum pressure, and cooling water volumetric flow rate were optimized so that production in outlet maximized. yield increased by 7.04 %.

Abstract The Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) process, which usually employs horizontal injection and production wells, has been applied successfully in producing heavy oil reservoirs. It allows high recoveries to be obtained, at rates without significant bypass of steam. However, SAGD due the heat loss overburden adjacent formations, can only used for thick reservoirs with relatively porosities saturations if there is an economic oil/steam ratio. Vapex uses light hydrocarbon vapors...

Summary Given the increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in males reproductive age, objective this prospective case–controlled study was to investigate impact subacute systemic inflammation associated with MetS on seminal cytokines and standard sperm parameters comparison healthy men. Between 2011 2014, we recruited 27 patients out 41 obese screened from an internal outpatient clinic. Twenty‐seven age‐matched controls were enrolled 54 men requesting vasectomy a urological A...

Summary Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) has been a commercial recovery process since the mid 1980s in Cold Lake area northeast Alberta. The current bitumen production is over 220,000 B/D using CSS from this area. To achieve desired injectivity saturated reservoir, steam usually injected at pressure above or close to fracture of formation. A relatively high drawdown created between wellbore and formation during phase, particularly early stage cycle where compaction solution gas drive are two...

Emulsion flow behavior in porous media is predominantly affected by the emulsion's droplet size distribution, as macro character determined micro transport phenomena of emulsion droplets passing through pore constrictions. In this work, oil-in-water emulsions (O/W) with different sizes but same oil concentration were first prepared and characterized their interfacial tension, stability, bulk viscosity. Sandpack tests then conducted to quantitatively investigate plugging characteristics...

Applying microwave heating, in substitution for conventional industrial process renders energy-saving and clean efficient mineral reduction. In this work, the behavior of low-grade pyrolusite during microwave-assisted heating was systematically investigated, phase transformation reduction characterized by TG-DTG-DSC XRD; meanwhile, a model mechanism proposed, with three-stage identified. Results indicated that manganese oxide (MnO) powder can be efficiently prepared, ratio presented positive...
