Throughout the Himalayan thrust belt, klippen of questionable tectonostratigraphic affinity occur atop Lesser rocks. Integrated U-Pb ages, Hf isotopic, and whole rock trace element data establish that Askot klippe, in northwest India, is composed Paleoproterozoic lower rocks, not Greater as previously interpreted. The klippe consists 1857 ± 19 Ma granite-granodiorite gneiss, coeval 1878 felsic volcanic rock, circa 1800 Berinag quartzite, representing a small vestige (circa 1850 Ma)...

Abstract We integrate U–Pb zircon geochronology and ε Nd (0) values with field mapping to determine which tectonostratigraphic units are represented the north, south within Almora klippe in Kumaun, NW India. Rock north of Main Central thrust (MCT) have Neoproterozoic ( c. 900 Ma) detrital ages, coupled similar (−7.6 −11.8) values, suggesting that these two same unit, is southern continuation MCT or another Greater Himalayan system. However, klippe, age populations establish presence...

Abstract We evaluated variation in dissolved organic matter (DOM) export as a function of hydrology and land use from large arid river basin northwestern China. Two soil‐derived, humic‐like (C1 C2) three protein‐like fluorescence components (C3, C4, C5) were identified. During high discharges, water DOM had higher values DOC concentration, percent humic fluorescence, humification index, but lower index protein than found at base flow, suggesting that flow paths shifted to shallower depths...

Abstract Existing structural models of the Himalayan fold-thrust belt in Kumaun, northwest India, are based on a tectono-stratigraphy that assigns different stratigraphy to Ramgarh, Berinag, Askot, and Munsiari thrusts treats as separate structures. We reassess new existing U-Pb zircon ages whole-rock Nd isotopic values, present model deformation history through kinematic analysis using balanced cross section. Abstract Coastal lake sediments are valuable paleoclimate archives provided that they can be accurately dated. Here, we report radiocarbon ages of bulk sediment organic matter (OM), plants, shells, particulate OM, and dissolved OM from coastal lakes in Florida. Bulk yielded consistently older than contemporaneous plants indicating significant deficiencies sedimentary these lakes. The data show the deficiency varies over time with location, making it impossible to determine a proper...
