Abstract To investigate whether Kinesio tape (KT) application improves proprioception, balance, and functional performance in patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture (ACLr). This retrospective analysis included 48 male surgically-untreated ACLr who attended the Sports Medicine Rehabilitation Center, Qingdao Municipal Hospital, China between June 2017 2018. KT was applied to induce a detoning effect on quadriceps muscle toning ischiocrural muscles. Proprioception, were assessed...

Homocitrate synthase (acetyl-coenzyme A: 2-ketoglutarate C-transferase; E.C. 2.3.3.14) (HCS) catalyzes the condensation of acetyl-CoA (AcCoA) and α-ketoglutarate (α-KG) to give homocitrate CoA. Although structure an HCS has not been solved, isopropylmalate (IPMS), a homologue, solved (Koon, N., Squire, C. J., Baker, E. N. (2004) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 101, 8295−8300). Three active site residues in IPMS, Glu-218, His-379, Tyr-410, were proposed as candidates for catalytic involved...

Homocitrate synthase (acetyl-coenzyme A:2-ketoglutarate C-transferase; E.C. 2.3.3.14) catalyzes the condensation of AcCoA and α-ketoglutarate to give homocitrate CoA. The enzyme was found be a Zn-containing metalloenzyme using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Dead-end analogues were used obtain information on topography binding site. α-carboxylate α-oxo groups are required for optimum coordinate active site Zn. Optimum positioning α-carboxylate, α-oxo, γ-carboxylate is likely...
