We present an easy and effective way to improve the mechanical properties of epoxy matrix by reinforcing it with a combination graphene oxide (GO) reduced (RGO). These nanocomposites were prepared different load nanofillers: 0.1, 0.4, 0.7, 1.0 wt% neat epoxy. Ratios (GO : RGO) employed were: 0 1, 0.25 0.75, 0.5 0.5, 0.75 0.25, 1 0. Results show that only 0.4 ratio 0.2 GO RGO, tensile strength toughness are 52% 152% higher than while modulus elasticity was improved<mml:math...

In this research, TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) were produced by electrochemical anodization of a Ti substrate where different NH4F wt.% in the electrolyte was added. NTs with diameter 65–90 nm and 3.3–4.9 µm length obtained sensitized binary cadmium chalcogenides nanoparticles, CdS CdSe, successive ionic layer adsorption reaction method (SILAR). Additionally, both anions S Se deposited onto Cd, labeled as CdSSe CdSeS, to evaluate effect deposition order anion from precursor solution form...

This work reports the influence of seawater ageing on mode I and II interlaminar fracture toughness ([Formula: see text] [Formula: text]) prepreg-based unidirectional carbon fiber/epoxy laminates containing nanofillers. Double cantilever beam end notched flexure specimens were fabricated from composite multiwalled nanotubes and/or reduced graphene oxide at their middle plane interface. Experimental results showed that addition nanofillers moderately increased propagation before after...

Oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes and graphene oxide were evaluated as reinforcements of an epoxy resin. The composites synthesized at concentrations 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 wt% under the same processing conditions. Nanocomposites with 0.5 present highest mechanical properties, reaching up to ~180%, ~760% improvement in tensile strength toughness respect neat epoxy. Nevertheless, oxidized exhibit a tendency improve properties load increases. Storage moduli diminish due cross-linking density...

Abstract A hybrid based on graphene nanoplatelets and carbon nanotubes (G‐CNT) is obtained through direct exfoliation of graphite in a liquid medium, tested as reinforcement material epoxy resin. CNT act contact with under ultrasound irradiation, the thickness decreases to produce an easy one‐step method. The morphology hybrid, observed transmission electron microscopy micrographs exhibiting delamination graphite. XRD, UV–vis, atomic force (AFM) results provide evidence by interaction CNT....

Abstract A novel physical process to obtain graphene nanoplatelets consisting of two principal steps, steam explosion and ultrasonic exfoliation, is proposed. This approach requires only water; nevertheless, the pressure temperature conditions in equipment contribute delamination graphite complemented with an step. Moreover, kinds source material were tested: highly pyrolytic oriented a lower graphite. Infrared energy dispersive x‐ray spectroscopies analysis confirmed additional functional...

Abstract The mechanical, electrical, thermomechanical, and thermal properties of a thermoset matrix reinforced with pristine carbon nanotubes (1-D) reduced graphene oxide (2-D) have been evaluated. Epoxy resin was 1-D 2-D nanomaterials in wide range load for detailed study: 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, 1.0 wt. %. It is observed that nanomaterials’ dimensionality influences its ability to transfer their unique the nanocomposites. In this work, are more suitable than improve some properties, even...
