New dedicated high quantum efficiency (Q.E.) photomultipliers (PMTs) have been produced by HAMAMATSU company, tested, selected and installed in the DAMA/LIBRA set-up at Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) of I.N.F.N.. In this paper results obtained measurements various features these Q.E. PMTs are reported, some performances new configuration shown.
Sol–gel derived inorganic–organic hybrid materials (HYBRIMERs) have shown a great potential for planar and channel waveguides due to their high photosensitivity, low-cost processing good suitability doping. These been synthesized with content of titanium (40%) three different chelating agents: acetylacetone, methacrylic acid trifluoroacetic acid. The degree photopolymerization the methacrylate part changes nature agent. Trifluoroacetic are agents showing highest conversion. All coatings were...
Abstract Summary: Two series of methacrylate copolymers were prepared, based on two new nonlinear optically (NLO) active chromophores 2‐[4‐( N ‐methacryloyloxyethyl‐ ‐methylamino)phenylazo]‐4,5‐dicyanoimidazole (chromophore A ) and 1‐ethyl‐2‐[4‐( B ). Second order NLO properties the ( or as monomer methyl comonomer) investigated by SHG procedures at fundamental wavelength 1368 nm; d 33 values in range 0.2–3.3 pm · V −1 obtained, depending chromophore its molar content. The dependence content...
Results on an optical waveguide filter operating in the near IR region are reported. The device consists of a hybrid sol‐gel ‐based grating loaded waveguide, obtained through merging conventional photolithography and UV‐nanoimprinting. Starting from submicrometric gratings, fabricated by electron beam lithography, soft mould has been produced original structures were replicated onto photosensitive films. A final photolithographic step allowed production grating‐loaded channel waveguides....
We have integrated on oxidized silicon wafers superconductive films and Josephson junctions along with sol-gel optical channel waveguides. The fabrication process is carried out in two steps that result to be solid noninvasive. It demonstrated 660nm light, coupled from an fiber into the waveguide, can directed toward superconducting tunnel whose current-voltage characteristics are affected by presence of radiation. response junction biased at various currents as a function pumping presented...
The purpose of this work is to investigate the in-plane poling technique and make a comparison with corona technique. To end we chose as test material well known guest-host system, disperse red 1 in polymethyl methacrilate. second harmonic generation order parameter, determined by means polarized absorption spectroscopy, have been monitored effectiveness poling. We found out that shorter gap distance between electrodes, higher maximum achievable value applied voltage, without occurrence...
In this work we report on hybrid organic/inorganic sol-gel based optical waveguides in slab configuration grown both glass and silicon substrates by spin-coating process. The samples were obtained using Zr(IV)-propoxide as inorganic precursor 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxisilane (GLYMO) organic component molar ratio of 3/1. Optical characterization each layer has been accomplished performing refractive index measurements at different wavelengths the visible near infrared regions an home-made...
