We study the structure of network representing interurban commuting traffic Sardinia region, Italy, which amounts to 375 municipalities and 1600 000 inhabitants. use a weighted representation in vertices correspond towns edges actual flows among those towns. characterize quantitatively both topological properties resulting network. Interestingly, statistical exhibit complex features nontrivial relations with underlying topology. backbone large cities we give evidence for very high...
In this study, we measure the resilience of road networks in two Mediterranean regions: Valencia (Spain) and Sardinia (Italy). We apply a framework that is able to monitor deterioration territorial accessibility systems response cumulative elimination sections. Road sections are removed according different types: random order, deterministic order criticality, areas at high risk flooding. The results show Sardinian network more resilient than Valencian network, despite its poorer quality....
This paper reports the immediate impact of epidemic on rehabilitation services in Italy, first country Europe hit by COVID-19. In a with almost 5000 Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine physicians, webinar had 230 live viewers (4.5%), more than 8900 individual visualizations recorded version. The overall inadequate preparation system to face sudden was clear, similar that acute services. original idea confining COVID-19 cases some areas wards and/or hospitals, preserving others, proved not...
Severe Acquired Brain Injury (sABI) presents significant challenges in clinical management and rehabilitation due to its diverse complex nature. The primary objective of the Tiresia project is identify medium medium-to-long-term prognostic factors for patients with sABI develop outcome indicators evaluate quality care units. This paper outlines protocol a prospective observational multicenter study conducted within Network. relies on comprehensive data collection stringent control measures....
European spatial planners deal with two major concerns: adaptation to climate changes (ACC) and the design management of green infrastructures (GIs). ACC calls for renewal planning constant appeals need adequately prepare extreme events. GIs deliver ecosystem services (ES), which consist beneficial functions living beings in terms of, example, helping people adapt change. An effective implementation measures at regional sub-regional scale is based on an efficient prompt system management. In...
The effectiveness of association mapping (AM) based on linkage disequilibrium (LD) is currently being tested in a number crops. An important prerequisite for the application AM availability collections accessions with suitable level genetic variation target traits and limited spurious LD due to presence population structure. Herein, results genome-wide molecular characterization collection elite durum wheat well-adapted Mediterranean environments are presented. Ninety-seven highly...
The assessment of the performance planning is debated. evaluation conformance a given national system with set principles similarly received critical and favourable remarks. A relevant case study consists European landscape practice Landscape Convention (ELC). Italy incorporated in 2004 ELC Code on Cultural Assets (CL), which opened way for new laws, tools, observatories atlases. aim this article to demonstrate usefulness an exercise concerning Italy. We scrutinize systems tools established...
We tested the preliminary effects of bilateral anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in patients with disorders consciousness.Open label pilot study.Ten chronic (greater than 12 months) a minimally conscious state (MCS) following severe traumatic brain injury. The received 10 sessions M1 tDCS. Behavioural changes were assessed Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (CRS-R) before (T-1, T0), after five (T1), at end (T2), two weeks (T3) and three months (T4). Moreover, an EEG assessment...
Adaptation to climate change means adjustment of human and natural systems climatic actual or expected events, in order minimize damage maximize benefit. implies involvement, coordination, cooperation different actors sectors. Multi-actor collaboration usually characterizes the drafting regional plans, which act as bridges between national local administrative levels. Regional administrations address resilience issues, through spatial planning processes. This study focuses on plans adopted...
