The present study investigated lead effects on gill morphology, hematocrit, blood sodium, glucose, lipids, protein, and cholesterol of Prochilodus lineatus exposed to two sublethal concentrations for 96 h. Preliminary series short-term static toxicity tests were run determine LC50 (96 h) in P. lineatus, which was 95 mg Pb.L-1. Therefore, tested the experiments 24 71 Pb.L-1, correspond 25% 75% h), respectively. Gills both during h presented a higher occurrence histopathological lesions such...
Although, glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine) is one of the most widely used herbicides in world, its interaction with poorly crystalline iron oxides, such as ferrihydrite, not well studied. In this research, we examined adsorption onto ferrihydrite using infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), kinetic models and isotherm models. The effect pH sodium chloride concentration on extractors (CaCl2 0.010 mol L-1 Mehlich) desorption were also evaluated. There are...
PROPOSED METHODS.Spectrophotometric determination of total protein is used in several areas such as clinical analysis, food science and technology, biochemistry, chemistry, physiology.Five spectrophotometric methods are mostly used: biuret, Lowry, Bradford, Smith UV absorption. In this review a general overview these presented (interferences, applications); other methodologies also discussed.
Botryosphaeran, a water-soluble exopolysaccharide of the β-(1 → 3;1 6)-D-glucan type that has been isolated from culture medium Botryosphaeria rhodina MAMB-05 grown in submerged fermentation using glucose as sole carbon source, was previously demonstrated to be non-genotoxic peripheral blood and bone marrow, exhibited strong anticlastogenic activity. In present study, effects botryosphaeran were investigated streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats well high-fat diet-fed hyperlipidemic Wistar...
Abstract Nutritional status during the developmental periods leads to predisposition several diseases and comorbidities, highlighting metabolic reproductive changes throughout adult life, in next generations. One of experimental models used induce undernutrition is litter size expansion, which decreases availability breast milk pups delays development. This work evaluated effects maternal induced by a preconception model, on alterations offspring. For this, parameters were male female...
Wound infections are feared complications due to their potential increase healthcare costs and cause mortality since multidrug-resistant bacteria reduce treatment options. This study reports the development of a carbomer hydrogel containing biogenic silver nanoparticles (bioAgNPs) its effectiveness in wound treatment. showed vitro bactericidal activity after 2 h, according time-kill assay. It also reduced bacterial contamination rat wounds without impairing healing hydrophilic groups...
Blood metabolic parameters of Walker‐256 tumour‐bearing rats, on days 5, 8, 11 and 14 after implantation tumour, were compared with those rats without tumour fed ad libitum (free‐fed control) or reduced feeding (pair‐fed control), similar to the anorexic rats. Cachexia mass also investigated. In general, especially day there was reduction body mass, gastrocnemius muscle food intake glycemia increase blood triacylglycerol, free fatty acids, lactate urea, free‐fed controls These changes did...
This work showed that the adsorption of glyphosate (GPS) depends on surface area for clays and amount CEC soils. Organic matter (OM) had a secondary role in GPS The soils from Londrina Floraí counties (montmorillonite, kaolinite) decreased when pH increased, however, bentonite clay soil Tibagi county was kept constant. For soils, competitive between phosphate displace by related to clays, pH. not easily displaced clays. FT-IR spectra resembled kaolinite. Thus, this could explain results phosphate.
A comparative study between the biuret method (standard for total proteins) and spectrophotometric methods using dyes (Bradford, 3',3",5',5"-tetrabromophenolphthalein ethyl ester-TBPEE, erythrosin-B) was carried out determination of proteins in blood plasma from rats. Bradford showed highest sensitivity lowest. For all methods, absorbance different (BSA, casein, egg albumin) measured lowest variation absorbance. The concentration protein obtained by not statistically (p>0.05) method. But...
