Mg–Ca alloys have recently attracted great attention towards the research in field of orthopedic biodegradable implants. This study presents an vitro degradation assessment Mg–0.8Ca (0.8 wt. % Ca) alloy Hank's balanced salt solution (HBSS). Immersion, hydrogen evolution and electrochemical behavior was studied as well cytotoxicity products. Morphology phase composition corrosion products were using SEM, EDX XRD techniques. Degradation HBSS resulted formation needle-shaped carbonated...

In the present study, sawdust/recycled expanded polystyrene (SD/rEPS) composite was manufactured to be used as sound-absorbing materials. To achieve this aim, SD/rEPS composites containing different loading level (0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 wt percent) of SD were prepared. The addition 20% exhibited better dispersion within recycled (rEPS) matrix than higher SD, indicated from scanning electron microscope. Consequently, tensile strength flexural improved by 16.7% 14.1%, respectively. displayed...

The electrochemical behavior of a PtRu(111) single crystal with 1:1 bulk atomic ratio is investigated for the first time by means cyclic voltammetry and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). electrode surfaces are enriched either Ru or Pt, depending on cooling conditions after inductive heating. Analysis STM shows typical topography smooth terraces separated monoatomic high steps. voltammetric characterization in acid media clearly reveals an altered Pt compared to Pt(111) Ru(0001),...
