1. Colombia with 1941 known recorded bird species is one of the most rich countries in world. Efforts are necessary to conserve, study and promote sustainable use this important taxonomic group throughout Colombia’s vast territory. 2. In an ideal world, informed decisions that based on sound scientific information should be likelier have successful outcomes. Nevertheless, there barriers make it difficult access a timely fashion. Those same impede study, conservation Colombia. On other hand,...

Biodiversity informatics is a new and evolving field, requiring efforts to develop capacity curriculum for this field of science. The main objective was summarise the level activity towards developing biodiversity curricula, work-based training and/or academic teaching at universities, taking place within Global Information Facility (GBIF) countries its associated network. A survey approach used identify existing capacities resources Most GBIF Nodes respondents (80%) are engaged in onsite...
A synopsis of the species Centris subgenus Aphemisia Ayala in Colombia is presented. total six were recognized: C. lilacina Cockerell, mocsaryi Friese, plumipes Smith and quadrimaculata Packard, including celadonia n. sp. vallecaucensis sp., two new described from Departments Huila Valle del Cauca, respectively. Diagnoses, descriptions, information on geographical distribution an identification key to all are provided. The previously unknown male for first time.
The genus Centris Fabricius, 1804 is one of the more diverse lineages solitary bees in Neotropical Region with than250 described species. Here ceratops new species from a tropical dry forest northern Colombia (Colosó,Department Sucre), thus increasing number known to four which females possess horn-like projectionon clypeus. This group belongs small monophyletic within C. (Heterocentris). Along description this species, diagnosis, pictures and key identify modified clypeus are also provided.
A synopsis of the species Centris subgenus Xanthemisia Moure in Colombia is presented. The identified are ferruginea Lepeletier, C. lutea Friese and aureiventris, a new from Colombian Andes. Morphological characters both sexes, distribution records an identification key for three that occur provided.
The characters distinguishing the two species currently recognized in subgenus Triepicharis Moure, 1945 are re-evaluated on specimens collected across their ranges. As a result, Epicharis (Triepicharis) schrottkyi Friese, 1900 is proposed to be junior synonym of E. (T.) analis Lepeletier, 1841, making monospecific.

We describe some structural aspects of the nest and female’s behavior in building provisioning it Megachile (Ptilosarus) microsoma. This species has been recorded to Bolivia, Brazil, Guiana, Peru Trinidad Tobago this is first record nesting for species.
Climate change (CC) is an important driver affecting pollination and pollinators. This paper aims to provide updated potential distribution for Centris nigrescens Lepeletier, 1841, infer CC effects upon it. We used ten modeling methods the of C. nigrescens. measured extent species' suitable area (SSA) that maybe within protected areas biogeographical provinces in both current future scenarios. seems be restricted Tropical Region Americas.
