ABSTRACT A geochronological investigation of two rocks with an eclogitic assemblage (omphacite‐garnet‐quartz‐rutile) from the High Himalaya using Sm/Nd, Rb/Sr, U/Pb and Ar/Ar methods is presented here. The first three outline a cooling history time peak metamorphism at 49±6 Ma recorded by Sm/Nd in garnet‐clinopyroxene to closure Rb/Sr phengite 43±1 rutile 39–40 Ma. isotopic system was fully equilibrated during eclogitization has not been disturbed since; its mineral ages may date metamorphic...
ABSTRACT Geological observation in the eastern end of Himalaya shows that Asia/India Suture is folded. Metamorphic rocks derived from India occur structurally below suture, core a regional antiform. Isotopic and fission track dating establish cooling‐exhumation c.30 km depth within last 4 Myr. We argue exhumation caused by ∼ 10 mm yr ‐1 erosion coeval with crustal scale folding.
We provide new geological and isotope geochemical constraints on the evolution from continental rifting to sea‐floor spreading along a segment of Jurassic Tethyan margin exposed in Platta Err nappes (eastern Central Alps). Field observations show that ocean–continent transition zone is characterized by oceanward‐dipping detachment faults leading exhumation subcontinental mantle rocks subsequently intruded gabbro bodies dolerite dikes, covered pillow basalts radiolarites. Zircons extracted...

Heifetz, Meier and Schipper (2006) introduced a generalized state-space model that allows for non-trivial unawareness among several individuals strong properties of knowledge. We show this arises naturally if states consist maximally consistent sets formulas in an appropriate logical formulation.
ABSTRACT Sedimentary cycles recorded in young sediments are often attributed to fluctuations of the Earth's climate on a 10 4 −10 6 ‐year scale which turn is governed by periodic variations solar insolation linked orbital (Milankovitch) parameters. A spectacular example cyclic stratal patterns ancient deposits Middle Triassic Latemar carbonate platform (W Dolomites, N Italy). Based spectral analyses from previous studies, superimposition precession (∼20 ka) and eccentricity (∼100 controlled...
SUMMARY The effect of cadmium on assimilatory sulphate reduction and thiol content was studied in non‐mycorrhizal mycorrhizal Norway spruce seedlings ( Picea abies ) its ectomycorrhtzal fungus Laccaria laccata . distribution also investigated. Isotope dilution experiments indicated that the reduced via adenosine 3′‐phosphate 5′‐phosphosulphate sulphotransferase, whereas assimilated sulphotransferase both roots needles. In only plant activity could be measured. Mycorrhizal mycelium contained...
