The antihyperlipidemic property of aqueous celery extract was studied in rats. Two groups Wistar rats were fed a high fat diet for eight weeks to induce hyperlipidemia. One group supplemented with the while other served as control. At end experiment, significant reduction found serum total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), and triglyceride (TG) concentrations celery-treated However, concentration hepatic TG significantly higher than control group. Hepatic triacylglycerol...
14-deoxyandrographolide (DA) and 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide (DDA) are two diterpenoids isolated from A. paniculata, a popular folk medicine used as an antihypertensive drug in Malaysia. We have previously reported that DDA exhibited greater hypotensive effect anaesthetized rats vasorelaxant activity rat aorta, compared with DA. Their activities were mediated through the activation of enzymes, nitric oxide synthase (NOS) guanylyl cyclase. The present study demonstrated both DA...
Leaf extracts of Garcinia parvifolia provided relatively high yields four novel, cytotoxic prenylated depsidones. The structures were determined mainly by detailed NMR spectral analysis and X-ray crystallography.
Leaf extracts of the Malaysian plant Aglaia laxiflora provided two cytotoxic compounds, a new rocaglaol rhamnoside (1), known (2), (but inactive) flavonol−cinnamaminopyrrolidine adducts (3−6), and their probable biosynthetic precursors (7 trimethoxyflavonol). All structures were elucidated primarily by 2D NMR spectroscopy. The structure stereochemistry aglaxiflorin A (3) confirmed single-crystal X-ray crystallography.
The successful operation of a 650 GHz unilateral finline superconductor–insulator–superconductor mixer with wide IF bandwidth is reported. was fabricated using silicon‐on‐insulator (SOI) technology, planar circuit on‐chip integration. tested over the frequency range 630–702 GHz, and best recorded DSB noise temperature 226 K. measured RF behaviour agreed very well simulation predictions. This demonstrates that superconducting mixers on an SOI substrate can achieve state‐of‐the‐art...
The design of a planar microstrip coupler where power coupling between two parallel lines can easily be controlled is presented. Enhancement done via small slots in the ground plane underneath pair. force field near edge each to cross adjacent microstrip. magnitude by adjusting length slots. Here, operation described, and 1 × 4 distributor array that used distribute input microwave uniformly four branch arranged row measured responses are also presented, shown performance agree very well...
Abstract Bioassay-guided fractionation allowed the isolation of two minor, caged cytotoxic tetraprenylated xanthonoids, gaudichaudiones I and J (1 2), from leaf extract Garcinia gaudichaudii. The structures were determined by spectral analysis which provided good agreement with previously isolated gaudichaudi-one B(3). Key Words: prenylated xanthonoidscytotoxicgaudichaudiones
2’,3’-Epoxyisocapnolactone and 8-hydroxyisocapnolactone-2’,3’-diol are two bioactive compounds isolated from the leaves of Micromelum minutum. In this study, induction of apoptosis by 2’,3’-epoxyisocapnolactone on CEM-SS cells were investigated. The cytotoxicity of 2’,3’-epoxyisocapnolactone was screened using MTT assay. apoptotic effect both evaluated using fluorescence electron microcopies morphological observation and DNA laddering analysis. The inhibition at 50% cell population (IC50)...
Abstract Background and Purpose Major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) is one of the most used composite outcomes in coronary artery disease (CAD) trials, though its lack a standardised definition has led to ambiguity challenges interpretation. This study aims elucidate MACE guide future interpretation context CAD trials. Methods A systematic review was conducted by searching Medline, Embase Cochrane for double-blind pharmacological randomized-controlled trials among participants with...
