Abstract Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) has been widely used in deep and long tunnels due to its highly efficient advantage. However, TBM can be subject adverse geology, especially the soft weak ground, so jamming, which seriously affects construction schedule, could happen. Thrust force requirement evaluation avoiding jamming is therefore important for tunnel at early stage or machine designing phase. In this research, some intelligent learning models are constructed conveniently assess enough...

The enhanced tubes in this study, referred to as E1 and E2, represent significant improvements the design performance of smooth tubes. By increasing surface area on their fin side optimizing condensation drainage design, heat transfer capacity finned has been further enhanced. These modifications will provide superior thermal management for condenser practical applications, facilitating widespread use across various engineering fields. In experiment, R134a was used working fluid, with a test...

C5F10O-CO2 mixtures are possible alternatives to SF6 - which has a high global warming potential as the interruption medium in gas circuit breakers. This paper experimentally studies arcing characteristics of mixture, with an experimental model viewing windows, and measures arc voltage, current emission spectrum. The evolution process is captured speed camera through inspection window. two-dimensional distribution obtained analyzed by inverse transformation Abel. results show that, mixture...

The laminar flame speed of natural gas/carbon monoxide fuel mixtures is studied by experimental and numerical methods. Experimental measurement shows that with the increase volume fraction gas, maximum blend first increases then decreases, peak value obtained at 0.748 m/s for 8% gas in blend. Numerical simulation reveals nonmonotonic variation trend content mainly attributed to transition dominant chemical kinetic steps.

Abstract A novel nonlinear robust controller based on the wide‐area measurement system (WAMS) is proposed using inverse algorithm and linear matrix inequality technique. The not only takes into account time delays introduced by remote signals' transmission in WAMS, but also eliminates effect of information's incompleteness when all generators are equipped with phase unit (PMU) power system. Digital simulation studies respect to a four‐machine conducted for various incomplete measured...

Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation narrowband wavefronts impinging on an array sensors has long been great research interest. In this paper, it is shown that for a uniform linear (ULA), discrete Fourier transform (DFT) domain-based DOA rely knowledge the power spectral density (PSD). We present novel approach signal tracking, which updates PSD each DFT coefficient in presence both and noise. This method based eigenvalue decomposition correlation matrices are constructed from snapshots...
