Sensor technology has enabled the development of portable low-cost monitoring kits that might supplement many applications in conventional stations. Despite sensitivity electrochemical gas sensors to environmental change, they are increasingly important polluted microenvironments. The performance a compact diffusion-based Personal Exposure Kit (PEK) was assessed for real-time gaseous pollutant measurement (CO, O3, and NO2) under typical conditions encountered subtropical city Hong Kong. A...

Busy street canyons can have a large flow of vehicles and reduced air exchange wind speeds at level, exposing pedestrians to high pollutant concentrations. The airflow tended move with along the canyon 1-s concentrations NO, NO2 CO were highly skewed close road more normally distributed sensors some metres above road. pollutants autocorrelated these elevated sensors, suggesting less variable concentration away from traffic in areas low turbulence. kerbside also showed cyclic changes...

Air pollutants from traffic make an important contribution to human exposure, with pedestrians likely experience rapid fluctuation and high concentrations on the pavements of busy streets. This monitoring campaign was Hennessy Road in Hong Kong, a densely populated city deep canyons, crowded footpaths low wind speeds. High-rise buildings form deep urban street canyons and restrict the dispersion of vehicle emissions, posing severe health risks to public by aggravating roadside air quality. Field measurements are important for understanding process tailpipe emissions in canyons, while a major challenge is lack suitable tracer gas. Carbon dioxide (CO2), which safe inexpensive obtain, can be reliably measured existing gas analysers. This study investigated suitability using CO2 as characterising emission...

The electroreduction of CO2 to formate is significant interest due its potential for sustainable fuel and chemical production. Hollow fiber electrodes, which integrate gas diffusion catalytic layers, offer structural advantages. These advantages enhance gas–solid–liquid-phase reactions, making them particularly beneficial electroreduction. This work reports a copper–bismuth alloy hollow with nanostructured surface, designed specific metal ratios transformed into sulfur surface-modified...

In winter, the air conditioning system of cold climate zones requires more heat. For ground source heat pump system, however, heating capacity is lower than summer cooling capacity. This paper shows a design complex building's through testing water temperatures and flows side load side, measurementing power consumptions unit in analyzes COP influence factors transfer. The results show that efficiency when operate at load, effect ground-source-side flow change to unit's COPr greater load-side change.

Faults, such as malfunctioning sensors, equipment, and control systems, significantly affect a building’s performance. Automatic fault detection diagnosis (AFDD) tools have shown great potential in improving building performances, including both energy efficiency indoor environment quality. Since modern buildings integrated systems where multiple subsystems equipment are coupled, many faults cross-level faults, i.e., occurring one component that trigger operational abnormalities other...
