A method for large eddy simulation (LES) is presented in which the sub-grid-scale modeling achieved by filtering procedures alone. The procedure derives from a deconvolution model, and provides mathematically consistent approximation of unresolved terms arising any type nonlinearity. formal steps primary to obtain LES equations, approximate construct subgrid model term regularization are combined into an equivalent filter. This filter should be almost perfect low pass below cut-off...

A brief review on techniques of machine condition monitoring is presented followed by a description and results study involving the vibration signatures several rolling element bearings with view to detecting incipient failure. The data were analyzed parameters assessed regard their effectiveness in detection bearing condition. It was found that all some value depending type failure encountered. Generally, frequency domain more consistent damage than time parameters. However, sufficient...

Over the last 30 years, turbulent entrainment has come to be viewed as a large-scale process, directed by coherent structures, and described engulfing. With turbulence simulations, we examined process of directly, growth vorticity concentration along fluid particle pathlines which were computed simultaneously. Our results indicate that is more often small scale. Growth occurs close boundary, within radial displacements, in times are smaller than local times. These observations can cast into...

Plasma potentials have been measured for the first time in neutral-beam-heated tokamak discharges, with a heavy-ion beam probe. Radial profiles of these are presented coinjection, counterinjection, and balanced injection, plasmas having only Ohmic heating. They found to be very dependent on direction rotation respect plasma current. also qualitatively consistent those inferred from radial momentum balance use toroidal velocity.

Confinement studies on the Impurity Study Experiment (ISX-B) in beam-heated plasmas contaminated with small quantities of low-Z impurities are reported. Experimental results correlation particle and energy confinement presented. A linear relationship plasma density is observed. As increased further, this effect saturates becomes independent electron density. The experiments have been extended to higher beam power, resulting an expansion ISX-B operating space. Impurities other than neon...

An analysis is presented for the production of weakly ionized plasmas by electron beams, with an emphasis on broad, planar capable reflecting X-band microwaves. Considered first in ability to absorb, emit and reflect electromagnetic radiation. Following that a determination beam parameters needed produce plasmas, based considerations ionization, range, stability. The results are then compared series experiments performed using sheet up 0.6 m square 2 cm thick. was generated long...

This study presents an acoustic emission (AE) based fault diagnosis for low speed bearing using multi-class relevance vector machine (RVM). A test rig was developed to simulate the various defects with shaft speeds as 10 rpm under several loading conditions. The data acquired AE sensor operating at a constant (5 kN) and range from 20 80 rpm. is aimed finding reliable method/tool machines on signal. In present study, component analysis performed extract feature reduce dimensionality of...
