Abstract A species new to science, Micarea svetlanae , is described from the southern part of Russian Far East based on morphological, chemical and molecular data. This closely related M. isidioprasina which also has micareic acid, granular-isidiate thallus with Sedifolia-grey pigment, crystalline granules in hymenium thallus, but differs cushion-shaped presence pigment hymenium, numerous hypothecium 0–2(3)-septate ascospores.
