<h3>Importance</h3> There is limited evidence on the benefits of sacubitril/valsartan vs broader renin angiotensin system inhibitor background therapy surrogate outcome markers, 6-minute walk distance, and quality life in patients with heart failure mildly reduced or preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF >40%). <h3>Objective</h3> To evaluate effect N-terminal pro–brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels, medication–based individualized comparators chronic LVEF more than...
ABSTRACT Among the many concerns for biodiversity in Anthropocene, recent reports of flying insect loss are particularly alarming, given their importance as pollinators, pest control agents, and a food source. Few monitoring programmes cover large spatial scales required to provide more generalizable estimates responses global change drivers. We ask how climate surrounding habitat affect biomass using data from first year new network at 84 locations across Germany comprising gradient land...
Acoustic positional telemetry systems (APTs) represent a novel approach to study the behaviour of free ranging aquatic animals in wild at unprecedented detail. System manufactures promise remarkably high temporal and spatial resolution. However, performance APTs has rarely been rigorously tested level entire ecosystems. Moreover, effect habitat structure on system only poorly documented. Two were deployed cover two small lakes series standardized stationary tests conducted assess...
Carbon dioxide concentration, air temperature, and humidity were monitored at (1) two cave sites (2) three adjacent karst soils. The data over a one-year period are supported by dripwater chemistry visiting frequency. results indicate that the sources of CO2 anthropogenic epikarstic ones in addition to ordinary Epikarstic produced under almost stationary conditions probably control cave's maxima. Based on breathing door opening, activity affects instantaneous levels, depending site...
Permanent drips from straw stalactites of selected caves the Moravian Karst were studied during one-year period. A hypothetical partial pressure CO2 that has participated in limestone dissolution, PCO2(H)=10-1.53±0.04, was calculated dripwater chemistry. The value significantly exceeds pressures generally measured relevant shallow karst soils, PCO2(soil)=10-2.72±0.02. This finding may have important implications for karst/cave conservation and paleoenvironmental reconstructions.Keywords:...
Abstract In Northern Pike Esox lucius negligible effects of external tags on growth and survival have commonly been reported, but no studies exist for age‐0 fish. We tested the impacts fin clipping, PIT tags, three (T‐bar anchor, opercular, streamer tags) in a pond. also examined surgically implanted transmitters small adult natural lake. The loss was lowest among all close to 0%. Of T‐bar anchor performed best. Loss these initially low (on average 5.7% after 195 d) increasing about 20.0% by...
Abstract While much of global biodiversity is undoubtedly under threat, the responses ecological communities to changing climate, land use intensification, and long-term changes in both taxonomic functional diversity over time, has still not been fully explored for many groups, especially invertebrates. We compiled time series ground beetles covering past two decades from 40 sites located five regions across Germany. calculated site-based trends 21 community metrics representing beetles,...
The invertebrates of the Macocha Abyss, Moravian Karst, Czech Republic, were collected in 2007–2008 and 222 species identified total. relative abundance individual taxa land snails, harvestmen, pseudoscorpions, spiders, millipedes, centipedes, terrestrial isopods, beetles, ants was evaluated. cold-adapted mountain subterranean inhabit bottom lower part abyss, whereas sun-exposed rocky margins inhabited by thermophilous species. harbors several threatened that are absent or very rare...
To improve blood pressure (BP) control of their patients, physicians either adjust or switch antihypertensive medication. Currently, there is only limited information available on why decide to medications. A questionnaire-based survey was performed between November 2011 and March 2012 in the Czech Republic. General practitioners were asked fill questionnaires about hypertensive patients whose medication they planning change. These recorded data patient demographic information,...

ABSTRACT The article reports on a new sampling method and the archaeological context of cave drawings, which include oldest currently known graffiti in Czech Republic. Between 2016 2020, samples with small amount charcoal were taken from drawings found Kateřinská Cave (Catherine’s Cave) Moravian Karst A gentle walls was developed for purpose radiocarbon ( 14 C) dating unknown age, while preserving contours drawings. C analysis has provided data four periods prehistory history: Neolithic...
Poinfarktový defekt komorového septa je poměrně málo časté onemocnění. Obecně závažné svou vysokou morbiditou i mortalitou.
