Al Hoceima Bay, located on Morocco's Mediterranean coast, is a very important ecosystem characterized mainly by seaside tourism and sea fishing. Continental inputs climate change generally contribute to modifying the environmental parameters that characterize coastal waters. This work aims seasonal spatial variation of physico-chemical surface waters Al-Hoceima Bay during an annual cycle in context global change. Four sampling campaigns (autumn, winter, spring, summer) were conducted period...

We present the occurrence of seafloor litter on coast Africa and in Bay Bengal based records from EAF-NANSEN Programme 2011 to 2020. Litter bycatch 534 bottom trawls were standardized km2 before analysis. Three percent indicated areas high littering highest densities occurred 100 300 m depth 50 km coast. Littering was lower Indian Ocean compared Atlantic Africa. Plastic objects fishing gear dominated recorded items (47 % 22 respectively) but, regional differences pronounced. North East...

Abstract The health status of cold-water coral reefs on the West African coast was investigated with main objective obtaining knowledge adaptive capacity Lophelia pertusa to environmental stressors. Three sites were studied, in Northern Morocco, Morocco/Mauritania region (both 2020) and, Ghana and Ivory (visited 2012, 2017, 2019). Area cover live colonies, explored through underwater videos, used as an indicator reef compared variables: position, depth, water mass, temperature, dissolved...

Abstract. The accumulation of human debris in the marine ecosystem is one main hidden negative impacts economic and social development that humanity has witnessed after industrialization era which comes accompanied with evolution productions, consumerism, as well emergence throw-away culture. In this paper, we studied pollution on seafloor North Central Moroccan Atlantic waters from Tangier (35° N) to Sidi Ifni(29° N). data were collected during two scientific trawling surveys conducted...

Environmental conditions such as temperature, planktonic biomass, and ocean currents play an important role in the development distribution of marine species. This work aims to estimate, a high spatial resolution, actual trends sea surface temperature (SST) chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl-a) assess relationship with local hydrodynamic Alborán Sea. To investigate these objectives, time series SST Chl-a satellite sensor data were analyzed during 20 years from January 2001 December 2020, using...

The recent decline in the health status of deep-sea habitats around world has pushed need to document and map their distribution preserve them marine ecosystems. This work describes deep-water coral (133-729 m) associated communities, based on nine ROV video transects. These transects cover a 171 km sub-seafloor profile within predefined 5560
