Summary Verticillium dahliae is a soil‐borne, hemibiotrophic phytopathogenic fungus that causes wilting in crop plants. Here, we constructed random insertional mutant library using Agrobacterium tumefaciens ‐mediated transformation to study the pathogenicity and regulatory mechanisms of V. . The fungal‐specific transcription factor‐encoding gene Vdpf was shown be associated with vegetative growth virulence, highest transcript expression occurring during conidia formation V991 strain....

Abstract Biodecolorization by microorganisms is a potential treatment technique because they seem to be environmentally safe. In the present study, decolorization and detoxification of cotton blue, crystal violet, malachite green methyl violet endophytic fungi were investigated. Preliminary screening result indicated that SWUSI4, identified as Bjerkandera adusta , demonstrated best for four TPM dyes within 14 days. Furthermore, optimization rate could reach above 90% at 24 h live cells...

The present study involves diversity and biological activities of the endophytic fungal community from Distylium chinense, a rare waterlogging tolerant plant endemic to Three Gorges Reservoir. This has been conducted hypothesizing that microbial communities in TGR area would contribute host tolerating range abiotic stress such as summer flooding, infertility, drought, salinity soil erosion etc., they may produce new metabolites, which possess plentiful bioactive property, especially...

Fungal endophytes live widely inside plant tissues and some have been revealed to provide benefits their host ecological environment. Considering the fact that are engaged in remarkably stable long-term interactions with for whole of life cycle, it's conceivable both partners substantial influence on each other's metabolic processes. Here, we investigated fermented products an endophytic fungus Umbelopsis dimorpha SWUKD3.1410 grown host-plant Kadsura angustifolia wheat bran, respectively,...

Beneficial interactions between endophytes and plants are critical for plant growth metabolite accumulation. Nevertheless, the secondary metabolites controlling feedback host endophytic microbial community remain elusive in medicinal plants. In this report, we demonstrate that plant-derived triterpenoids predominantly promote of bacteria fungi, which turn productions. From culturable bacterial fungal strains isolated from Schisandra sphenanthera, through triterpenoid-mediated screens,...

The objective of this study was to determine whether endophytic fungi, isolated from Kadsura angustifolia produce nigranoic acid and its highly oxygenated derivatives. From the 426 fungi screened, Trichoderma harzianum SWUKD3.1610 detected have a component with same TLC R f value HPLC retention time as authentic acid. This further confirmed by investigating chemical composition fungal extracts. Besides (1), one new triterpenoid, 7β- schinalactone C (2), two known minor compounds were...

Six new dibenzo[b,e]oxepinone metabolites, chaetones A-F (1-6), as well three known compounds, 1-hydroxy-6-methyl-8-hydroxymethylxanthone (7), citreorosein (8), and emodin (9), were obtained from a freshwater-derived fungal strain Chaetomium sp. YMF 1.02105. Their structures established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data analysis comparison with reported. Compounds 1-6 are further additions to small group dibenzo[b,e]oxepinones represented by arugosins A-H. 1-7 tested for their...
