Abstract This study proposes a deep learning model for cortical bone segmentation in the mandibular condyle head using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and an automated method measuring thickness with color display based on results. In total, 12,800 CBCT images from 25 normal subjects, manually labeled by oral radiologist, served as gold-standard. The combined modified U-Net convolutional neural network target region classification. Model performance was evaluated intersection over union...

Abstract Objective This study aimed to assess the feasibility of quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) employing multi-dynamic multi-echo (MDME) technique as a diagnostic modality for evaluating glandular dysfunction in patients with hyposalivation. Methods The MDME generated T1, T2, and proton density (PD) maps parotid gland, allowing simultaneous acquisition values from respective mappings. Mann–Whitney U-test was used compare hyposalivation control groups, receiver operating...

Objective: We aimed to develop and assess the clinical usefulness of a generative adversarial network (GAN) model for improving image quality in panoramic radiography. Methods: Panoramic radiographs obtained at Yonsei University Dental Hospital were randomly selected study inclusion (n = 100). Datasets with degraded 400) prepared using four different processing methods: blur, noise, blur anterior teeth region. The images distributed training test datasets ratio 9:1 each group. Abstract Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) produces high-resolution of hard tissue even in small voxel size, but the process is associated with radiation exposure and poor soft imaging. Thus, we synthesized a CBCT image from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), using deep learning to assess its clinical accuracy. We collected patients who underwent both MRI simultaneously our institution (Seoul). data were registered data, prepared into 512 slices axial, sagittal, coronal sections. A...
