Four age groups of fischer 344 rats (6-, 12-, 18-, and 24-months age) were compared on a battery reflexive locomotor tasks. The simple tasks such as placing, hopping, negative geotaxis surface mid-air righting showed little or no change function age. In contrast, requiring more coordinated control motor responses suspension from horizontal wire, descent wire mesh pole, traversal an elevated platform rotorod performance significant declines with age, some noticeable early in the lifespan....

A system developed to expose chronically a large number of small animals 918‐MHz microwave has been modified permit exposure at 2450 MHz. Special transmitting and termination transducers were used retrofit the chambers system. The use separate cells that consist cylindrical waveguides, which are excited by circularly polarized, guided waves, provides relatively constant easily quantifiable coupling energy each animal, regardless their position, posture, or movement. VSWR in cell is...

Our results indicate a negative correlation between the amount of ethanol (10%) consumed and endogenous levels brain [Met]enkephalin in C57BL/6J (alcohol-preferring) DBA/2J (alcohol-nonpreferring) inbred mice strains. Additionally, it was found that 8 wk after 1-day starved groups both were challenged with for acceptance, they had significantly lower compared their nonalcohol-treated controls. These suggest peptidyl opiates may play crucial role alcohol-seeking behavior.
