A compact miniaturised‐element frequency selective surface (FSS) is proposed for size reduction. The structure can be considered as a common square‐loop slots FSS overlaid with periodic array of metallic patches mounted on an ultra‐thin dielectric layer. larger coupling capacitance brought in each overlap area between the two layers parallel films. theoretical analysis and simulation results, together measured demonstrate that much better compactness characteristic realised FSS.

A peak‐to‐peak (P‐to‐P) search‐based single source direction of arrival estimation is proposed.
