In this article, we report a robust method for the facile synthesis of small silver nanopolyhedrons (Ag NPs) with edge lengths controlled in range 50–120 nm using facile, one-pot, and totally green method. The keys to success is that rapid nucleation Ag atoms was facilitated through addition trace amount zinc as additive or promoter which will react Ag+ galvanic replacement reaction.
