Abstract We present the first publicly released catalog of sources obtained from Hobby-Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX). HETDEX is an integral field spectroscopic survey designed to measure Hubble expansion parameter and angular diameter distance at 1.88 < z 3.52 by using spatial distribution more than a million Ly α -emitting galaxies over total target area 540 deg 2 . The comes contiguous fiber spectra coverage 25 sky 2017 January through 2020 June, where object...

Abstract We present measurements of z ∼ 2.4 ultraviolet (UV) background light using Ly α absorption from galaxies at 2–3 in the Hobby–Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX) database. Thanks to wide area this survey, we also measure variability across sky. The data suggest an asymmetric geometry where integrated UV is absorbed by H i within halo a foreground galaxy, configuration similar damped systems. Using stacking analyses over 400,000 HETDEX LAE spectra, argue that detectable...

Abstract We present MCSED , a new spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting code that mates flexible stellar evolution calculations with the Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms of software package emcee . It takes broad-, intermediate-, and narrowband photometry, emission-line fluxes, and/or absorption-line indices returns probability distributions covariance plots for all model parameters. includes variety dust attenuation curves parameters varying UV slopes bump strengths, prescription...

Abstract In this work, we measure the Ly α escape fraction of 935 [O iii ]-emitting galaxies between 1.9 < z 2.35 by comparing stacked spectra from Hubble Space Telescope/WFC3's near-IR grism to corresponding stacks Hobby–Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment’s Internal Data Release 2. By measuring stacks’ H β ratios, determine as a function stellar mass, star-formation rate, internal reddening, size, and ]/H ratio. We show that correlates with number parameters, such galaxy nebular...

Abstract The Hobby–Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX) is designed to detect and measure the redshifts of more than 1 million Ly α emitting galaxies (LAEs) 1.88 < z 3.52. In addition its cosmological measurements, these data enable studies spectral profiles underlying radiative transfer. Using roughly half a LAEs in HETDEX Data Release 3, we stack various subsets obtain typical profile for ∼ 2–3 epoch understand their physical properties. We find clear absorption wings around...

Abstract Euclid , the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope and Hobby-Eberly Dark Energy Experiment (HETDEX) will make emission-line selected galaxies largest observed constituent in z > 1 universe. However, we only have a limited understanding of physical properties via their Ly α or rest-frame optical emission lines. Abstract We describe the ensemble properties of 1.9 < z 3.5 Lyman alpha emitters (LAEs) found in HETDEX survey’s first public data release, Public Source Catalog 1. Stacking low-resolution ( R ∼ 800) spectra greatly increases signal-to-noise ratio (S/N), revealing spectral features otherwise hidden by noise, and we show that stacked spectrum is representative an average member set. The flux-limited, Ly α S/N restricted stack 50,000 LAEs shows biweight 2.6 LAE to be a blue (UV continuum...

Upcoming missions such as Euclid and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (Roman) will use emission-line selected galaxies to address a variety of questions in cosmology galaxy evolution $z>1$ universe.
