The Neotropics are one of the richest regions in biodiversity globally. Still, much remains unknown about mechanisms and processes responsible for accumulation species this region. Among many limitations on our current knowledge region's biodiversity, understanding community composition distributions is limited greatly biased Brazilian regions. We present information composition, habitat use, geographic distribution, taxonomic accounts, conservation snakes from Rio Grande do Norte state,...

Potimirim potimirim (Müller, 1881), a species of coastal freshwater shrimp, is recorded for the first time from state Rio Grande do Norte, northeastern Brazil, where it was collected in small tributary Potengi River. This record extends distribution this about 220 km north along Brazilian coast. New records, such as this, reinforce need greater research efforts ecosystems Brazil to provide better understand region’s biodiversity and establish parameters conservation actions.

Abstract In the Atlantic Forest, species distributions are not uniform. The biome has been divided into 8 biogeographic sub-regions, such as Pernambuco Center of Endemism (PCE), in northeastern Brazil. Nísia Floresta National Forest (Flona) is a protected area situated municipality Floresta, Rio Grande do Norte state, harboring native vegetation (Atlantic and "Restingas or Tabuleiros") well regenerating areas, with experimental plots exotic plants for timber production. Herein, we present,...

Abstract It is repeatedly stressed the need to characterize extant biodiversity in tropical ecosystems. However, inventory studies are still progressing slowly dry ecosystems, leading underestimation of their true and hindering conservation efforts. In this study, we present primary secondary data, along with an updated list amphibians reptiles from two localities São Francisco-Gurguéia region Piauí. Additionally, compare species composition between nine areas within Caatinga, which were...
