We report a case in which thoracoabdominal aneurysm was present association with previously unknown critical spinal canal stenosis. In spite of using left heart bypass, systemic hypothermia, and controlled cerebrospinal fluid drainage for cord protection, the patient developed paraplegia following aortic repair.
