The aim of the present project is to evaluate deterioration degree ancient glass surface used as mosaic materials (tesserae) in Pompeii's ‘ ninfei a scala’. This paper describes the multidisciplinary study and completion of restoration work conducted on an important floor mosaic from fifth century AD. The floor, a big polychrome figured mosaic, was discovered in 1970s city center Faenza belonged to vestibulum late antique domus.
